Rock Ink 'N Roll Tattoo — Local services in Virginia Beach

My sister-in-law just got her very first tattoo, and she chose to go to Josh—and let me just say, he killed it! From the moment we walked into the shop, the environment was welcoming, clean, and professional. You can tell the team takes pride in their work and really cares about the people who walk through their doors. Josh, in particular, was incredible. He was super attentive and took his time explaining the entire process to her—from what to expect with the pain to how to care for the tattoo afterward. Since it was her first time, she was understandably nervous, but he made her feel completely at ease.

Josh worked with her to finalize the design, made sure she was 100% happy with it, and then executed it with precision and creativity. The end result was even better than we imagined! It was clean, detailed, and beautifully placed. You can tell he’s truly talented and passionate about what he does.

This place is AWESOME, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more—especially for first-timers. If you’re thinking about getting a tattoo and want someone who listens, cares, and absolutely delivers, ask for Josh. You...

Editing my review after a phonecall: The apprentice who did our tattoos offered to retouch up mine and my friends, I declined for myself bc it's not a huge deal for me (and fits for a mental health tattoo lmao) but she was very sweet over the phone.

So the only things I have issues with is the (very cute and sweet) dog walking through the tattoo area and some bad mouthing of other tattoo shops--which obviously doesn't impact the tattoo you're getting at all.

So it's a good place for a quick and cheap/affordable tattoo, and if it comes out with some errors they're willing to help fix it for you. The side of the wrist is a pretty whack spot so I don't really blame them for it coming out a little goofy, but I'm just nitpicky about line quality. Shop minimum is $60, so it's pretty affordable, especially if it's your first tattoo, and if it doesn't turn out how you want they'll fix it for you.

I had an amazing experience at Rock Ink and Roll Tattoo in Virginia! Josh was the artist who did my tattoo, and he absolutely nailed it. The work came out perfect clean, detailed, and exactly what I wanted.

Josh was super kind and easy to talk to the entire time. He made sure I was comfortable, checked in on me often, and genuinely cared about how I was doing. He even stayed late to finish my tattoo when he didn’t have to, which meant a lot. Afterward, he followed up to make sure everything was healing well you don’t see that kind of dedication everywhere!

The prices were very reasonable for the quality of work and service I received. I can’t recommend Rock Ink and Roll Tattoo and Josh enough. Thank you so much, Josh, for your time, your skill, and the great experience! I’ll definitely be coming back...
