Those who come here, or want to I reckon to read other reviews, like mine.
I come here often with my mama and sometimes with my friends who are understandable and respectful. I am a teenager and understand the concept of costumer service as I provide costumers with support and often work with pets. I am quite respectful rather than most teens in VB. I gotta say, this is probably the worst place to shop. I understand that they don't make the prices and I understand how stressful it is working there can be as there isn't A/C and gets hot pretty fast. They charge too much. You could find better prices on Mercari or Poshmark for better quality. They also dont even clean any of their toys or just anything thats in there, INCLUDING whats inside the display cases, even if they claim to do so. This is very unsanitary, horrible look already.
As somebody whose been here often, most of the workers are disrespectful, didnt know this nasty antique mall also hired nasty antique people who are in need of hearing aids too. Its mostly the guy in the front whose a drama queen. The sellers are chill and look forward to compromise with you, just the people who actually work there. you know, the ones who scan/type in the items.
They also tend to charge more upfront because they mispriced something. Take accountability and quit up charging just because you feel like it.
Also, if you work here, dont be so mean to those who are younger. Its ignorant and its not an ethical work environment. Just because YOURE miserable has no meaning. do NOT be rude to PAYING customers. and please, do NOT upcharge because of YOUR mistake. They also get rude when you dont want to pay 5x of what the item is priced for. I come from money, but I am not paying something that was originally priced 40 bucks then after they tend to communicate to another while there is a LINE, they end up charging (just based on THEIR decision, clearly) we/I end up being charged 100-120. There are no excuses that defend this type of behavior, this appears to be a common mistake that needs to be fixed if you want to be successful.
Overall - dont come here, shop ethically and responsibly. I expected better service, coming from a younger person. If you support this behavior, then maybe this broke greedy ghetto shop is just right...
Read moreWhat a great place to spend the afternoon! If you had a early breakfast and need to do some walking this is the perfect place! It's HUGE!!
Hubby and me walked around till the store closed and I feel like we could of easily spent more time in there. There's vintage clothes, dishwear, magazines, military items, action figures, baseball cards, records, furniture, tools, video games, role playing books, Pokémon cards, etc. Just so much!!!
Our favorite spot was upstairs where all the action figures were. Very well organized and nice staff to help you. I have never seen so many vintage toys from my childhood in one spot. If you like transformers, teenage mutant ninja turtles, Pokémon, etc this is the spot! They even had a small case of Zoids!! I haven't seen those models in AGES!!!
Might not be a great spot to take a small child who is still learning how to control their emotions or doesn't know how to behave. But if they are well behaved you can easily find something for them here.
Downstairs is also a really cool video game shop with old dungeons and dragons books and Pokémon cards. I haven't been in the card market in a long time so I can't say if they were priced well but there was alot of people by the Pokémon cards.
Definitely give this place a chance. There is something...
Read moreThis place easily became one of my favorite places to be. My wallet shakes in terror every time I walk in. With items in everyone's budget, there is ALWAYS something worth buying for ANYONE! Everyone of all ages will find great pleasure and interest to browse this treasure trove of Virginia Beach even if they choose not to spend anything. Layaway service is offered here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I appreciate all the work they do. The whole place is basically a history museum that let's you buy their inventory. You can spend hours and days in here without seeing everything. Stock is always changing. It's worth checking back frequently.
I must issue a warning for OCD collectors of toys and figures such as myself interested in the brand new / mint products. If you are looking at items which appear unopened and in original packaging, give it a thorough inspection that it wasn't already opened before and repackaged. I was fooled by a number of toy purchases now that I discovered had already been opened after buying. They were covered in layers of dust or missing accessories. Check for signs of retaping, zip ties missing, or box tears. People sell to the toy store claiming sealed / unopened products from their collection but they just put it...
