Kroger — Local services in Wabash

I do love the wide varieties available here at the Wabash Kroger. But their prices break me every time. I am a single mom and on a very tight budget. I cannot afford to spend that much on food! The store is always clean. The lines are never terribly long. I will say the customer service window is kind of annoying, and not always the friendliest. Every time I need to use Western Union, they have to find someone out on the floor first. Then that person comes dragging up like I’ve just interrupted them from some very important work. They hand me a pad of paper and demand, “driver’s license, transfer number, name of person, blah, blah, blah.” What happened to the, “Hello! What can I do for you? —-ok. I will need to see your ———.” Bottom line....I use this store cause it is pretty much all we have in Wabash, besides Walmart. But it breaks me every time I shop there and they need better...

They keep a surprising amount of specialty items in stock. From dairy-free, gluten-free, organic perishable and non-perishable items, you're likely to find it there. My new favorite discovery is Amy's frozen organic Indian meals. They also have naan in the deli! One issue I have had in the past is unacceptable produce. Apples that were brown deep in the middle and normal all around it. How does this even happen? No sign of bruising, or age, or any kind of defect on the outside. Also, I've come across lettuce bags just infested with gnats. Some dead and some still alive. But, they exchanged it for bug-free lettuce immediately and without any hassle. The pharmacy is 100% the worse place with the most laziest "young" people working behind the counter. They now make up their own rules of when they will fill your medication, i.e. meaning you must completely run out (31st day of 30 day supply) before they will refill it, than it takes them half of their work day just to fill it... the people who work at this pharmacy and pharmacist are completely useless and have no real work ethic.
