Tonight I visited this store in Waco Tx. Approx 7pm. I entered the store to do a quick return. There were no visible employees but I found one at the cash out counter. I parked in the front spot outside the store. I had just returned to my car & I witnessed 2 women running out of the store with about 50 hangers of clothing each. They jumped into the car parked right in front of me. I took a picture of their car plates before they pulled away. I entered the store & asked for the manager on duty. A woman came from the left side with 2 other employees. I explained what I saw . I tried to show the manager the picture and she shrugged her shoulders & refused to look. I offered to wait for the police. She said she wasn’t calling them. There were other witnesses both inside & outside the store that were also trying to tell the manager the details. 3 other Belk employees were also present. They said there was nothing they could do and they werent interested in the details. I asked again if they were going to call the police. They said NO. I asked if she needed the info I had for an internal incident report to explain the inventory loss. I suggested that the higher ranking managers might want the details if they were held accountable for inventory. We were all shocked at her indifference & were dismissed. One of the witnesses said “if I grab an armload of stuff & walk out right now you won’t stop me. The manager said NO”. As a retail executive for another major company the indifference to what we witnessed made me question whether or not this manager was in on the theft ring. This behavior will lead to higher prices to absorb loss for honest paying guests. Word will spread and this store will become increasing more dangerous for the guests & the employees. I did call the police to report it. They told me without store involvement there was little they could do . I will never shop at this Belk again & risk my safety or give my money to such an indifferent team. Picture of thieves & their...
Read moreFrom the selection of items, the appearance of the racks and the availablity of sizes and quality of materials, this store looks like it is going out of business.
This store used to be one of my 'go to' stores. It always had stylish, well made clothes, but the last time I went to look for a nightgown (with coupon), I could not find one small or medium sized gown. Of course, it may have been hiding among all the racks of mismatched and different sized pj tops, pants, housecoats and robes which looked as if they belonged in a discount or 'last chance' store. Salvation Army stores are a step up!
The items to the front look better and are organized, but the entire personal wear area would have been an embarrassment to any store manager. The storeroom marked "employees only " was ajar, no employee around. Items literally thrown in piles on the floor or tossed in baskets..no racks. No respect for what they were selling.
No matter what enticement coupon they have, I will not return....
Read moreI went into Belk today around 4pm to get my husband some cologne, I walked over to a lady and asked, “if they sold men’s cologne” she pointed me to the direction where it was located and said, “all the samples are on the counter..” which not all of them were. Not once did she come over and ask if she could help. As I was leaving, her and another worker were walking away from their area that they were supposed to be working, another lady needed help with make up and said, “does anyone work here?” Their manager as I assume was walking up, he was telling them to go help the customer…. I’ll never step foot in there again! So I went where I knew I’d immediately get help, to...
