I was so excited for Waco when I heard that Tia was coming to town! We love the Henderson location and have never had a bad experience there, unfortunately that wasn't the case at this location. We were seated in the bar, it's extremely noisy and that's to be expected; waiters probably need to lean in to communicate with guests. We ordered between 8p and 830p, it was busy but had begun to slow down a bit, we ordered and advised waitress that we would like to put in a to go order of beef fajitas quesadillas, we would not need them until the end of our meal. She said that it was too busy and that they would not accept a to go order. I said ok, just bring it out with our meal and I'll box it to go. She said, I'll have to charge you for to go containers. It is what it is because I promised to bring the order back to my granddaughter. We started with queso, it came out with a film on top; it looked like it had been sitting. I stirred it and it was hot and tasted good. I ordered seafood enchiladas, once again I could see that it had been sitting, the cheese had settled and had made film over the top. The scallops were raw, the enchilada were barely warm on the inside. My guest ordered the fish and it was so spicy she couldn't eat it. I was embarrassed because I had hyped the whole Tia experience up to her and it was anything but good. No manager came by, I couldn't find anyone to assist us. The quessadilla did not come out with the meal. I had to walk towards the kitchen ask about our waitress, I got a to go box for my enchilada, ( to recook at home) and to ask about quesadilla and bill. I was not charged for the to go containers. Yay The first bite taken of the beef fajita quesadilla was not good, ugh I don't even want to type what she pulled out of her mouth. It went in the trash along with my enchilada. I know alot of people can stomach that, but I'm not one of them. I so wanted this to be my new favorite Waco place. I'm sure I'll give it another chance, but it's going...
Read moreWe arrived at 6:07 with a party of 7. We were told that it would be 15 minutes. At 6:27 I received a text that our table was ready. The hostess came over and apologized and stated she accidentally paged me but assured me that our table was getting ready and they would page us when it was. At 6:32 I received a second text that our table was ready so we walked up to the hostess station. All of the hostesses looked frazzled and I could tell that they paged us in error again but didn’t say anything. A couple of minutes went by and they informed me that they in fact had paged us in error again. I then asked to speak to a manager. I assumed they called her but apparently they didn’t because nobody came. I finally saw who I assumed was the manager and asked if I could speak with her. She said sure. (Never introduced herself) I told her the situation and she started looking into it. Finally a couple minutes later she said I’m sorry they accidentally called you. I said that is twice!! She said I apologize we are going to get a table together and I will get you an appetizer (insert eye roll emoji) five more minutes and we finally we seated at close to an hour after arriving (for a party of seven) mind you the tables they ended up sitting us at were vacant the entire time we had been there. Do you think the manager ever came by and checked on us while we were there? No! Do you think we got an appetizer?? No! They have been open long enough to have issues like this worked out and this shouldn’t be happening! Needless to say we will not be back and I will be sure to let everyone I know (and I know a lot of people) about this terrible experience and poor customer service, especially from the management. Whose name I asked as we left— Brooke! You need...
Read moreGreat sounding menu but very inconsistent quality in the two my two visits. The first time was a Monday around 5:30 p.m. Good service, good specialty cocktail, good food, good vibe! Second visit a week later on a Tuesday at 8 p.m. We were only two people and they seated us in the area to the right next to a several crowded and very loud tables. And they really crank up the music after dark! There were booths open on the left, but they wouldn't let us sit there. It was loud, the waiter was having to sprint around. Our drinks were weak and sloppy. Not good when paying $14 for a drink. And then having to pay $9 for an extra shot to make it drinkable! The crawfish queso tasted like it had a tablespoon of Tony Chachere's in it. It was so salty we could barely eat it. The fried oysters were small, soggy, and flavorless. I was charged more for the oysters than the price on the menu. I had asked how many oysters were on the plate. When I said that wasn't enough for that price, the waiter said, "well, I think there are more than that." So they gave me more and charged me more without asking. And all this was after they brought us a plate of quesadillas that we did not order, took it back, but left it on the ticket so I had to ask for it to be removed. What should have been a one-hour dinner turned into a crazy evening and not a good experience at all. If I go back, it will be after I'm hear they have get their act together and become consistent in the...
