Read moreUpdate on my post after writing to the corporate office 4 years ago. Still waiting on a reply from July 2020. Here's my Facebook post.Jeff Gilbert July 19, 2020 · Shared with Public Los Cucos Waco It's been about a week and no response from their corporate office, so I guess it's time to slam em on Facebook. Last week my daughter and I went to eat at Los Cucos Waco. Walked in and were greeted promptly. Ordered our food and everything was great, I ordered Chicken Chimichangas. Food came out quick and our server was delightful. They set the plates down on the table and handed us the little plastic package with plasticware inside. I opened mine up and attempted to stick the form in my food and use the plastic knife to cut. I was really struggling with these toy utensils, so I asked my server for some real silverware to which she responded, "I'll have to get my manager". that's when the problem started. A few minutes go by, and some lady approached my table and said verbatim "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?" Yes, there was some attitude. I assumed she was the manager however she didn't identify herself. I shrugged it off and asked for silverware or at least something better to use. Her response was it is against the law and CDC guidelines for them to provide real silverware. If it had not been for her poor attitude I would not have responded with "really, I ate Cracker Barrel yesterday and Texas Roadhouse the day before that and they provided silverware". The manager said, "I WILL NOT BREAK THE LAW FOR YOU, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU DO". At this point I picked up my food with my hand and asked for a napkin. We should have left but we didn't, so we finished eating and left the server a $15. tip. As we were leaving the manager (Corina Flores) thanked my daughter for coming to which my daughter replied, "aren't you going to thank my dad, he's the one that paid?" Corina's response was "I HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE THAT IS RUDE! Again, I shrugged it off and went out the door. As we approached the car my daughter said that pissed her off and went back inside. She asked Corina for her managers name, and she said she was not allowed to provide that information, if she wanted it, she would have to google it. When we got home, I did google it and wrote a nice email to corporate, but it's been a week and no response. I guess they don't care what they have representing their company. Pretty disappointed because I really...
I had to leave 2 stars because I love their atmosphere. I'd given a 5 if the restaurant wasn't so dirty. It is well lit and spacious. The ranch/horse motif is on point. It's not overwhelming nor overdone. So, why am i giving the restaurant a 2? "Wrote a song about it, here it go." The 2 is because I want to be abundantly clear that NOTHING outweighs cold food and bad service at a restaurant. It doesn't matter how good the food tastes (3-4stars). The supposed-to-be-served-hot, food came out cold. Well, let me not exaggerate. Not quite cold but they were lukewarm at best, all 👉🏼6 out of 7 plates👈🏽. I'm not a diety and I was hungry or I would have "spewed it out of my mouth." The rice was only partially cooked. Let me be clear. The rice was hard. It was unevenly cooked. It had a bit of a chewy, texture. It was beyond al dente, very unappealing. Anyone know when restaurants started counting out the number of nachos they serve on a plate? Some residual side effect of COVID, I imagine. This is unfortunately the case at some of my favorite tex-mex spots... SAD SAD SAD! And the worst part of this decision is that they are always on stale chips. I don't get it! When you order nachos the plate should be full of chips covered in the described or chosen acutriments. In this case, it was supposed to be beans, meat and cheese. The presence of beans was almost non-existent. It resembled a skidmark. I'll leave that discriptive there. Long sigh. The drinks were short poured and high priced. The general consensus was that neither the quality nor quantity of food and drink was a fair reflection of the price. Adding insult to injury was the lack of response from the server and the management team. I could go on, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the general attitude and behavior of the wait staff. But I decided to pick my battles, to be gracious because it was late in the day. This was not my first time here. The first time, the fajita beef resembled the flavor of liver or kidneys more than steak. The manager encouraged me to come back. She promised a different experience. This time the manager took one of my entrées off my $120 tab. She also decided to add a 20% gratuity without my knowledge nor my consent. This was neither specified on the menu nor were we a party of 8. (It is customary for parties of 8) Well, she promised a different experience. She delivered....
Read moreHad hoped for experience like in College Station several years back. Was really craving a deep fried stuffed avocado.
Not today.
We entered and were seated after several minutes asxthe hostess was busy fooling with a computer screen....a waitress finally came buy and seated us.
Our waitess came to take our drink orders very quick.
I ordered a very, very dirty Dirty Martini.... She repeated a Berry Martini... I said and said very slow... Id like a very, very dirty, Dirty Martini. She said ahhh a Dirty Berry Martini. I repeated once more even slower. She got it right👍
Went off to get our drinks, returned quickly and asked how to make a Dirty Martini since bartender had never made one. I said 2 parts Titos Vodka, 1 part Dry Vermouth and lots of olive juice...put it in a shaker, shake and serve with olives.... She said anything on the rim ?
Shouldve left...justvlaughed and said no.
She came back and said they did not have vermouth.
Oh well...she brought a bar menu....the had a drink made with Wild Turkey. I ordered 2 shots of Wild Turkey and 1 ice cube. Was specific...I dont want the drink on the menu.
Yeah....got my W.T. double with 1 cube.
Took our food order...wife ordered large chicken tort. soup. I ordered deep fried avacafo, stuffed with beef fajitas + a chicken enchillada + rice + refried beans that came with a small tortilla soup.
The food came VERY quick.... They should have kept it a little longer...youll see in a minute.
Wifes soup was smoking hot...lots of chicken and a huge bowl.
Mine was "warm to cool"...the salsa theyd given us,with chips was actually hotter than anything in my plate. I told the waitress my food was barely warm. She said "Im sorry" and wandered off.
So I gave them a 3 for trying, but NOTHING like the experience in College Station.
We wont go back, to much hassle and you have to bring your food home to nuke the hell out of it.
If you zoom in on pic of the cut open avacado....youll see the cheese is barely melted....not runny like if it had been...
