Homegoods in Waco, TX is incredibly tight for those who require a wheelchair, walker, or electric scooter. ADA shouldn't allow them to further make it hard to get through isles having things down the middle. There is too much merchandise for such a small store. TJX is a multi million dollar company, so why they picked this rental space is beyond me. This concept would in fact make sense if it was a boutique, but it is not. There are different areas to shop that feel not well thought out. It is as if there was no plan-o-gram, no floorset, and frankly...rushed. Whoever vetted this location should be fired. As they like to say on the HGTV shows, "it doesn't work". The staff is also incredibly unfriendly. I didn't feel welcomed at all during opening week. Having nice products on the shelves with poor service won't bring me back in. I had found something I really liked but the way in which I was treated, I ultimately decided they don't deserve my business. Marshall's, just a few stores down who is also part of the TJX family, is always on the ball to say hello, offer direction, mention the credit card, and thank me for my business. Having working in retail, I know this helps prevent shrink and build long term customer loyalty. Furthermore, you have to get in line to view the items in the que. They are encased in glass facing Inward vs outward. It is only open on one side. Therefore, if you aren't checking out and there is a line, you can't see them facing forward. They also have an area to place shopping carts outside, but I don't know why cause they aren't feasible in this environment. I think the layout of the store is a bit off with seasonal up front and furnishings in the back. I think they should have the furniture and wall art to your right walking in vs seasonal and garden. I saw an employee walking around with a clip board but not speaking to guests. I think her job is to ask about TJX cards but she's too shy it appeared. They hired a lot of people who don't appear to have retail experience or basic customer courtesy. For example, I needed assistance moving some of the framed canvas art and they told me, "They aren't that heavy to move" while standing around talking to other employees. How close the isles are, it is only a matter of time before items get broken and bone china goes into a million tiny pieces. Hence, why they needed more space so the mugs don't get bumped. All and all, I'm very sad. I had high hopes for this store in Waco, but the people and the way it is run don't hold a candle to the Northpark location in Dallas. I hoped for so long to get one here, but like most things that finally arrive in Waco...nice, new, and shiny till they are ruined by poor management, no engagement or even a welcome from sales associates; and excluding those with disabilities to enjoy their experience by filling the middle isles of the store, when all they needed to do was select a different building or build their own. The location is fantastic that is the only plus, but I would not recommend unless you aren't claustrophobic and enjoy being ignored. So disappointing. Thank you for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery excited to see a HomeGoods make it to Waco! However, I'm not sure the current size of space is efficient for the current inventory. It is a very cramped store. Loved all the merchandise I saw, great selection, great prices. &, I spent plenty. It was just very hard to navigate. Shelves are also stacked really tall in some areas so it is hard to get something down without causing a catastrophe, especially for those of us less graceful. I hope HomeGoods is here to stay in Waco but they may need to consider finding a location with more square footage (or, downsize the inventory on the floor and open up some space for navigating the aisles with the shopping carts with more ease). I will be a repeat customer, but will likely never bring a small child with me out of fear of the mess we might create...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh, boy, if you are a person who loves creating your atmosphere in your home, this is your place. It's just what it says, home goods. From artwork to bathroom decor to fun cat furniture to sheets and rugs, I can (and do) spend hours browsing. The prices are terrific, the atmosphere colorful and inviting, the store is clean and well organized, brightly lit, and fun to explore. This is not a "big box" store, but rather a "great find, buy it if you love it because it may not be there when you come back" kind of place. And you will want...
