I got a gaming PC several years ago (maybe six?) and did not know much about how to take care of it. Let's just say I burnt out a very expensive video card in the first year. I've been paranoid about my PC overheating ever since. Also, having cats and living on the third floor of two apartment buildings in the past four years makes a pc collect a lot of dust.
Also, since it was prebuilt I was not aware until several months and one Geek Squad warranty overdue, that you have to clean out the inside of your pc on an at least semi-regular basis. Let's just say that the dust has caked on THICK. Eventually we moved to St. Cloud and in the past few weeks I was able to hop into Unique Electronics while my mother was getting a new phone at MetroPCs.
The woman working there said they had a tech that worked on weekends, so I set up and appointment ASAP. The tech was fantastic and very friendly. Not sure how you spell his name, but I believe it was De'Shan? Anyways, De'Shan is a great guy. He ended up ordering some new PC fans for me, which arrived a week later (it was Easter weekend, btw) and I had them installed that weekend after.
He also cleaned my CPU paste and reset my BIO settings for better fan efficiency. My PC was extremely loud and clunky, but now it's near silent. No overheating or any issues whatsoever!
I still haven't gotten over the initial 'panic' I have every time I turn it on and it doesn't begin to noisily sputter- I always think it's not working or something is unplugged! đ
Definitely will be taking my PC here from now on. I don't have to worry about a Geek Squad subscription and it was under $100 for everything, including the three fans, paste change and labor.
De'Shan is awesome, and I appreciate your help! Thank you so much for doing what you do, Unique...
Read moreI felt like I was ripped off here. I had a problem with charging port and went there to see what was wrong. At first the guy said its just because of dirt inside and tried cleaning with the tong but later on he was like I have to change a new port and charged me 45 dollars for that said its gonna take like 45 minutes. He went inside and did it in 10 minutes gave me the phone and I saw the charging port was old and dirty . in the receipt he rang me up as ch port soldering . I am sure something was off and he charged me a lot maybe because he thought i know nothing. I also asked how much would it be for changing screen and he said it is gonna cost 160 which is too much because I know the rate around here. So my experience here was bad. I just wish people would not try to do something like that to other. Money is important...
Read moreMy little sister bought an iPhone 8 plus a few days ago, when she told me she paid $400 for it I checked around online and I could have gone into Verizon and bought a new 2020 version of the iPhone se for that price or I could get a factory refurbished iPhone XS for 350. I called unique electronics to ask about returning the device since she was obviously ripped off on the price. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that they do not accept any returns on phones.
As of right now the going rate on eBay for a used iPhone 8 Plus is $250, so this stores markup was about 150 dollars thatâs ridiculous
I would recommend avoiding this store and will be telling my friends and family in the area to...
