Honestly, I can't remember the last time I wrote a review.... but this one deserves it and not for good reasons! The place is disgusting! I'm currently sitting in my room wondering if I should leave. Only reason why I am not is because I spent everything I could just to get here to visit some family (before anyone says anything, I can't stay with them) this super 8 should honestly be closed down.... the list of things wrong with this room that I've seen so far. 1. The walk to my room showed stained carpets (really bad stains) and still sticky stains from spilt drinks on the walls. 2. Walking into my room the forst thing I notice are the incredibly stained, ripped and peeling carpets. 3. Next is the bathroom where the bathtub is turned off but a solid stream of water is coming out. 4. The bathtub/shower is missing parts (handles, towel bars) 5. Sink is cracked. 7. Bathroom counter has water damage at the base and wonky. 8. Dresser thing has some weird white stuff hardened on it? 9. More carpet stains and rips in the bed area. 10. Outlet covers broken and won't hold a cell charger in place. 11. Mirror has michael Meyers stickers on it. 12. The nasty microwave has playboy bunny stickers in it. 13. Window has water damage and the roof just outside and above is falling down. 14. The only chair (rolling office chair) has stains and something else on it. 15. The comforter has what looks like toilet paper or tissue paper went in the wash with it (here's hoping it was washed) 16. The toilet leaks, so it keeps making an oddly incredibly loud noise while it refills every 10/15 minutes. 17. Forgot to mention all but one of the lights in the bathroom are burnt out so it's very dark. 18. Honestly concerned for my car in the parking lot since they are not doing anything about people just gathering out there. 19. Forgot to mention the toilet seat is broken and slides around..... I know there are more. I'm just tired of typing and tired of this place. Close to 100 bucks a night for this, I wasn't expecting perfection. But I was expecting at least something sanitary! I thought about asking for a new room. But if this was their clean room knowing I had a reservation, what would their other rooms be...
Read moreDo not stay here. I've stayed at over half a dozen cheap hotels in the past couple of weeks, most of which I had a good experience at. But this was the number one worst hotel experience that I've ever had in my life. I called ahead and asked if they had any rooms available for early check-in, and the girl on the phone said that there was one available at 12:30. I arrived at 12:30 and she checked me in without incident. The room had the worst smell that I've ever smelled in a hotel room. I can usually just get used to smells like this and ignore them - I'm not finiky about this kind of thing - but this was REALLY bad. Like wet, musty cigarettes. Just when i was about to ask for a different room, there's a knock on the door. It's a cleaning lady, who says that the room hasn't actually been cleaned, but that room 125 is clean (there's no possible way that a smell like this is going to go away with a cleaning). I go to the front desk to ask for a room change. After waiting for about a minute, a man comes out and... I worked retail at a ritzy store for a couple of years, and had some pretty horrible, abusive customers. The man behind the desk at this hotel was worse than all but about 4 of them. Before I even said a word or asked for a room change, he launched into a 30 second, angry tirade about how check in isn't until 3 and how early check in costs 40 dollars (which I hadn't been told about) and how he can't just move me from room to room - on and on, angrily interrupting me whenever I tried to get a word in edgewise. It was verbal abuse on the level that would make child protective services take a kid away. The guy is an abusive monster who has no problem spitting that toxicity at his customers, the room smelled much, much worse than any other cheap motel that I've ever been to, and before I could even ask if there was another room available I got treated in a way that no human being should ever be treated.
Edit: the room with the smell was 115. If you make the mistake of staying here, then at least don't make the mistake of staying...
Read moreThis place was bad, very bad. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and was looking for good, safe and cheap. Well they have the cheap part down. It wasn't good, nor was it safe in my opinion.
The carpet - I took my shoes off and it felt damp... and sticky. I put my shoes back on and walked into the bathroom and heard the sound shoes make on tile when you've just walked through something sticky.
The bedspread - cigarette holes all over it. I pulled back the bedspread and top sheet and the bed looked ok, till I looked at the top sheet and it was dirty - maybe just stained, but I couldn't tell for sure.
Wifi - dropped after about 5 minutes and wouldn't connect again. I had to use my hotspot.
Door - I happened to look towards the door when I heard someone else's close and saw sunlight streaming in all the way around. I walked over thinking I hadn't closed it tightly - but yep, I had. 1/8" to 1/4" gaps all around the door between it and the door frame.
Shower/tub - holes in the surround where it appears bars used to be in place. Dirty holes, gross.
Window - I was put in a room on the first floor (woman travelling alone here). Not cool, but I figured there were safety things in place. Well, I went to the window and it does open but had a theft prevention bar in place that was in the locked position. I pulled on it and it opened right up without removing the key or anything. Then I noticed that the little rod that it pivots on by the window frame was torn out of the bracket so it would be easy to get through the "anti-theft" device.
All in all a bad experience. I was literally there long enough to heat up supper (nice microwave) and call another hotel to get a room there, so maybe an hour? And I packed my stuff in my car and drove away without looking back. I definitely recommend checking out a different hotel (even if it costs a bit more). I'd sleep in my car before staying at this...
