Page 158 Books — Local services in Wake Forest

A really nice local bookstore in Downtown Wake Forest Area. The staff are incredibly friendly and I try my best to buy books from here whenever possible rather than that website we all know about. It feels good to spend my money at a brick and mortar book store than somewhere else.

I have pre-ordered several books from them and they contact me immediately and even if I pick up the book a week later they still have it for me! I have never had to wait more than a few days if they don't have my exact book and honestly, it just is a cozy and fun environment to be in.

You can tell that the staff are book readers and avid learners. One time we got on the subject of a book I had ordered and then proceeded to spend 30 minutes talking about history and podcasts that we all enjoy.

What a perfect book store. Love the vibe. I recently cultivated a rare opportunity to browse unhurried, and was delighted to find these fantastically helpful sticky notes on so many books — thoughtfully prepared little labors of love, giving shoppers a brief but content-rich idea of what you can expect in the pages beneath.

After a bit of looking around, one staff member asked me a couple questions to help guide me toward authors similar to ones I already loved. So much better than searching online. When I try to do this with platforms like Kindle or Goodreads, I get a mixed bag. I can find books of the same genre but not always the same quality of writing or complexity of character arcs.

At Page 158, the recommendations were insightful and felt well curated.

I just found this treasure in Wake Forest. A great independent book store that has so much to offer. I have purchased a book for an upcoming Author Visit that I am currently reading and also books for two book clubs that I cannot wait to attend. This shop has so much to offer with its literary inventory and Book Bags which are handbags fashioned after classic novels. My Birthday and Christmas shopping just got easier!

I am also looking forward to an Irish Dinner and Music event sponsored by Page 158 Books coming up and I will be bringing an out of town guest to impress with my new town.
