Headed out for lunch today, my husband decided on Over the Falls because we had such a great experience in our last visit. During our last visit, we had chicken wings, fries, loaded baked potatoes, and more items. It was absolutely delicious !
In this visit, we had to call in our order for pickup. Upon doing so we ordered the 8 piece chicken tenders, French fries, and sweet tea with no ice.
My husband highly disliked the French fries, as it tasted more stale. When I initially took a bite; I thought it was good but then also realized it tasted more stale, or similar to it being frozen and quickly thrown in grease. A little difficult to explain. In all, it wasn’t a good taste. I’m not sure how French fries cannot taste good.
The chicken tenders were not good either. He ate one chicken tender and that was it. They also came with bread crumbs on the tenders, and resembled fish sticks. I have never seen any Restaurant serve chicken tenders in this manner.
My husband stated he didn’t want to waste the food so he instead really tried eating it for the sake of not wasting money, but he could not finish because of the dissatisfaction.
Reluctantly, I called the Restaurant to explain the situation and see if we could have a replacement meal for the next day since we live almost 25 minutes away.
After explaining what happened to the first employee, she told me to “hold on” and transferred me to another employee, which was most likely a manager.
After explaining to her the situation again, she stated that is how their chicken tenders come, and stated the fries were made fresh. She even mentioned she could show me camera footage of the cook making the fries.
While I do appreciate her for going to that extent, we both know that was not necessary. I asked if we could have a replacement meal if we bring in the old meal for the next day, and she told me no. I asked what was the protocol or standard procedure when customers are dissatisfied and disappointed, and she stated when that occurs, there is nothing that they do if the customer does not like their meal.
She did offer half off for a future meal.
We did not accept this offer since at this point it seemed more of a hassle than genuine concern.
Not wanting to spend more money, since we had just spend $19.00 in an addition to a $5.00 tip, he resulted to Apple Jacks for his dinner.
While the 1st experience was great, we most likely won’t be returning since their customer service was not at the level of a Chick Fil A team member.
UPDATE: the owner personally texted me and provided a sincere apology as well as their actions to correct this dissatisfaction. That’s all we ask for is a high level of customer service. The gesture goes a longgg...
Read moreWas in town and decided to try a new place with Family that had been recommended by other family members. The atmosphere was really comfortable, pub-style seating, TV's, a cozy looking bar area near the back, and a variety of high-top, booth, and table seating. I was excited to try the wings as the feedback I had received was very positive. Our order consisted of the following items for a party of 5: Soda - never received Black Widow hard cider - very good Hilly Haze draft - decent Sweet potato fries - good Regular fries (breaded) - good Seared Tuna - as expected, comes on a bed of lettuce two dipping sauces, and several light deep fried chips Salad with shrimp - good Tomato basil soup - very good She crab soup - very good Outtatowner sandwich - good Wings in the following flavors: Garlic Parmesan - ok Red Dragon - pretty good Hot / Blue cheese - very good The wing crispiness was done perfectly, but beside the Hot/blue cheese, the taste was decent. The soup was by far the best. And for the bummer of this entire experience - the waitress was miserable! I can go on and on, but the few interactions we had with her just ruined the entire dining experience. I did even notice that all the drinks were brought out by a different waitstaff (not uncommon when busy), food was brought out by different wait staff (also not uncommon), but not once did our original server come check on us. And actually, half way through our dining, another waitress just appeared and was the one that ultimately checked us out (could it have been shift change? Possibly, but not even a single check-in or notice from the original server) Overall, my take is that for the prices we paid, and service we received, I will NEVER be going back, and DON'T recommend anyone else visiting either. Take your money and time and find another local establishment where you can enjoy good food and not feel put out while spending decent money on dining...our bill was $254 for 5 people (including the soda we asked for 3 times but was never received, 300 with TIP...yes, I still tipped decent because I'm not heartless and understand all the staff that supported us beside the original unpleasant server. I hope...

Service was great—everyone was kind and quick from the host stand to our waitress, server. Even watching other staff members go by, it seemed like everyone was hustling but in good spirits. We had high hopes for the food, but this is where the review goes south—the menu was mouth watering… classic options with enough of a twist to make things interesting. For example: potato skins as a side! I got the sirloin steak entree which comes with asparagus, potato skins, and sourdough bread. None of it has much flavor…the steak was cooked fine (medium), but half was super chewy for some reason. It looked pan-seared (possibly flattop?) with a nice looking crust but hardly any flavor. The asparagus seemed steamed without seasoning either (no salt/pepper/lemon—nothing that I could tell). The potato skins looked great, and they’re hard to mess up, but unfortunately they tasted like someone sprayed them with cooking oil before tossing them under a broiler. And the sourdough was literally a piece of toasted sliced bread from a bag. Looked like a slice of the Pepperidge Farm loaf I get at the store. Husband got the burger and when I asked how his burger was, he said, “Fine. It’s a burger.” He later commented his chips were overdone. We also got a tasting flight of their infused bourbons (peach, pineapple/jalapeno, apple pie, and raspberry). The quality of the bourbon used was okay, but the flavors were very weak. We were most excited for the apple pie and it had the most potential given the cinnamon can do a lot of the work, but this was the weakest flavor and the bourbon seemed to have been altered or something bc it tasted watered down—like the last, warm sip of a bourbon with rocks that was long past melted. TLDR: Service and atmosphere were great. Everything was cooked fine, but lacked flavor. Photo isn’t great—I don’t typically take pics of my food but I finished eating and was so bummed, I thought I’d share :/ I may go back and try some sandwiches...
