My first visit to this coffee shop was extremely disappointing, and I will not be returning. Upon arrival, I settled in at a table with my belongings and set up my computer to get some work done. Interested in their menu options, I went to the register to inquire about their wifi and check out their offerings. Feeling indecisive, I returned to my table to continue working with the intention of going back to order a snack later. However, after just 30 minutes, a man who had initially seemed welcoming approached my table and rudely inquired about when I was going to order, citing that they were getting busy. No one was in line, and he was sitting on a couch chatting with another customer. He essentially implied that if I didn't order soon, I would have to leave.I had planned to spend about two hours there, as I hadn't eaten breakfast and intended to order something eventually. However, the manner in which I was approached was quite embarrassing and humiliating. Being the only black woman in the establishment, it was especially uncomfortable to be singled out in this way. It was clear that the staff needs to learn how to treat customers who may not look like them. If they had given me some time, they would have made a sale. Instead, their approach was super rude, and as a result, I will not...
Read moreI have been coming to Wake Forest Coffee Company for 10 years now. It has only improved over the past decade!
The staff is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. Whenever I’m indecisive I can tell them what flavor profiles I enjoy and they’ll make suggestions or even concoct something of their own. You’ll never get tired of their selection because they have a vast amount of syrups! They also have a barista favs list if you’re seeking unique and delicious combinations (:
Shout out to Autumn, Emilee, and Sarah for being so personable & making delicious combinations for me.
This coffee shop is also one of the most affordable local shops I’ve been to. Whenever my friends come to town, WFCC is always on the docket.
I highly recommend the double chocolate muffin warmed. I usually order a large white chocolate macadamia nut cold brew with a little splash of almond milk.
If you’re looking to study, work, or have a little coffee date, the noise level can fluctuate. Upstairs is much quieter if you’re looking to work or study.
This coffee shop has been my little sanctuary for the past decade and I cannot recommend...
Read moreI've been coming through on and off since it first opened in 2008 as a high school student. I'm glad one of the first local businesses to really put WF on the map withstood events like a recession and COVID. You all newbies to Wake Forest have no idea how barren downtown was back in the day. Tons of businesses came and went while this coffee shop stood through. WFCC was THE spot. It feels like coming "home" when getting something here.
I do have rose colored glasses from all the nostalgia and memories, WFCC was the backdrop to some very fun times as a teen. Now, as a whole grown adult (debatable lol) and life being more calm, I find myself getting a simple hot chai and chilling.
I wish the chai was more hot, and my cinnamon roll not as crumbly/hard. I didn't take anything off for that because to be honest I visited on a VERY busy day that was staffed by probably very stressed WF High kids or seminary students so I don't hold it...
