Last week I went to the Renaissance Center in Wake Forest to see a magician. The place was pretty full and there were a lot of kids in there too. The show was wonderful and it was only $10 for seniors. Sometimes it pays to be old. Anyway the parking is not the best but there is a large parking lot if you don't mind walking. I usually park on the street because it's a shorter distance then the end of the parking lot. If the show is really good you can be sure it will be difficult to find a place if you don't get there at least a half an hour early. I have tickets for the upcoming Motown Revue which is January 17th and which probably will sell out shortly. If you wait till Christmas it'll be too late. The Renaissance Center itself is quite huge it was recently or maybe it's been a year to now renovated and the seat ing is comfortable and there's plenty of legroom. Usually the bar is opened 4 beer and wine along with soda and I think milk I'm not sure. They also serve popcorn and I don't know what else. Coming up I think it's December 8th is a play called Cratchit. Have you ever wondered what happened to Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim and the whole family after Scrooge left them the business and the money that came with it? This is the story of the Cratchit family a year after Scrooge changed their lives. It sounds very interesting and the good part is that it's free. Free free free. So if you want to add this to your Christmas repertoire I don't think you will be...
Read moreI attended the variety show "Neck of the Woods". For a very reasonable charge, one can enjoy a nightclub atmosphere in which to take in two hours of local talent. The upgraded sound system is wonderful. The "variety" show was indeed varied with four acts ... 2 musicians, a one-act play and two stories by a real story teller. The bar provided snacks and drinks at very reasonable prices. I had an iced-cold soda for $1. It was an enjoyable evening all around. I understand this event may be repeated in the fall, in which case I plan to attend. Hats off to the Wake Forest officials and volunteers who make so many wonderful events available for...

When Home Instead Senior Care needed a place to host our Be A Santa To a Senior wrapping party last year, The Renaissance Center so generously opened their doors to host it. They also open their doors to host Dementia training for the community. So glad they are part of the fiber of the Wake Forest...
