Walker General Store — Local services in Walker

this morning I had a not so great run in with the staff at walker general store and proceeded to leave a bad review of the store, which i have in parentheses below, because I was unhappy with the experience. but I have now changed my review to 5 stars because the owner took the time to look through their reviews, which shows me they care about their business, and they also responded to my review telling me that they would address the problem, which makes me, as a customer, feel a lot more respected. my family, friends, and I visit walker, MN every summer and I have visited walker general before, and today after my bad experience I was feeling dissatisfied, BUT, after the very kind reply from Walker General’s owner I will be bringing my business back to Walker General Store. (today while my friend and I were strolling the streets of walker we thought that walker general store would be a fun store to enter, so we opened the UNLOCKED door, not to mention there were no store hours posted anywhere in sight telling us wether or not the store was open, and got absolutely screamed at by an employee, not only was she screaming at us she was screaming at us like we were dogs. after my experience with walker general store today I am feeling very disrespected and will no longer be shopping at a store where the PAYING customers are treated...

Honestly such a basic selection of items.. Forced my brother to buy an entire set of candy when there was 1 broken wafer that he didn't even break. this Karen just assumed that he had and said she "saw it" when he only had picked it up to look at it. wafers are extremely easy to break btw. you know that right.? don't stock a fragile product if you don't expect some accidents to happen. a rude white haired woman was literally yelling at a poor elementary schooler who doesn't even have his own money to pay for it. If there is an issue you can politely talk to the parent or guardian but yelling at an autistic child who can't even defend himself is horrible customer service.. she then watched us the entire time we spent looking at the overpriced toys and I heard her...

Today while perusing the streets of walker this little store seemed appealing to me. There were no signs showing the hours and no open/closed sign in sight. My friend and I proceeded to open the UNLOCKED door and were then screamed at by either the owner or an employee of walker general store. She talked to us like animals and didn’t even tell when the store opened. I would like to add, that we were in no way rude or trying to cross boundaries at their store, we just simply didn’t know because there was no way to know. I felt very very disrespected and I will not be taking my business to walker general store anytime soon. I hope this review steers you away from this store as well. If I were I able to, this would be 0 star...
