I am at the same time glad and disappointed to see that so many others have had the same experience I had. I was starting to think that I was just being overly critical of our Melbourne feather sectional. I suppose based on these comments that we were lucky that our sofa was delivered, unpackaged, and set up very well. I have no complaints whatsoever about the delivery team. However, it was immediately obvious that this couch was comically low to the ground. My father lives with us and considers it his daily workout trying to get up from the sofa. It was also immediately apparent that after sitting on the cushions, they flatten and slope downward, effectively creating a slide to deposit you onto the floor. This is especially noticeable on the chaise portion, where you are laying at a sideways angle. The "waterfall" style edges of the frame provide no support for the cushions. The back pillows compress and fold the foam inserts whenever anyone sits, creating an uncomfortable wad of padding that you must completely remove and reposition to get back to normal shape. This is all on top of the fact that the feathers poke out constantly. After I am done pulling the offending ones out, it looks like we've been butchering chickens in our living room. To make it bearable, we had to pay someone to build a wooden frame underneath the sofa to not only raise it to a comfortable level, but also to angle it backward so you don't feel like you're falling off. The cherry on top is that it was also very expensive!
I contacted customer service and received a few responses before being ghosted. I then called, which restarted the process. I was offered to have a team come out and replace the foam inserts of the sofa, as if that would help in any way. When I rejected that, it was back to the old standby. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Delivery calls a day earlier than original planed to drop off couch (selected room option). They agreed alfor later time as I was still at work. Upon arrival. They inform me that I need to take doors off as they were not able to do so. So I did. (Didn’t know this). Get to the top landing, they look at the door and state it will go through. They can’t take it back, had me sign and took off. I call to request professional. I was denied. I told them they can come back and pick it up. They will charge me 15% for restock fee. I was offered room of my choice. Not the landing of my front door. I was accused of not clearing the hallway. I cleared the hallway just had to take doors. There was no communication of this. Measurement was provided before the coach was delivered. The couch ordered with selected room option was not the landing of my front door stairs. Delivery used by this company is horrible.
Furthermore, It has been week 3 waiting for dispatch to pick up this couch. I requested the return 2 weeks ago. It is a major inconvenience! It still sits at my front door landing. I have informed them multiple times that it concerns my landlord as it is a fire hazard. Customer service informed me Friday, it’ll be this week and I will receive a call. It’s Monday, and I had to reach out. Now they are say next week. I have ordered a couch from another furniture place and they struggled getting it through the back door. Realizing I needed to cancel immediately, I reached out to their team, who told me that cancellation requests would take 5-7 business days to process.
Well, it’s been 7 business days and counting, and despite multiple follow-ups, I have received absolutely no updates. Their customer support claims to respond immediately, but that’s a blatant lie.
I have already filed a dispute regarding this charge, and I’m still just trying to get confirmation of my cancellation. The lack of communication and disregard for customer satisfaction is beyond frustrating. This company is unprofessional and deceptive.
