This is a NEGATIVE review! Yesterday, I visited this establishment to purchase liquor for the holidays! Upon approaching the cashier to pay for my purchase and show my ID, I was DENIED the right to purchase said alcohol. My wife was beside me, as we going to shop at the grocery store afterwards. The cashier demanded we both show our ID's, without explaining why there was a need for my wife to do so. We both are well over the legal age to consume alcohol, this seemed awkward to both of us. My wife left the store, and I was there alone, I was still denied the opportunity to make the purchase. I then left the store. After some time, I returned and asked for a manager, the manager refused to converse with me and explain why the denial took place. Instead, the police were called, and they were very professional and heard our side of the story, the officer saw a picture of my wife's license and verified she indeed was old enough to consume/purchase. He then revealed to me the clerk assisting us felt my wife was younger than her age, if this was explained from the beginning by the store clerk/manager all would have been fine. However, they chose to be closemouthed and then the store saw fit to have me slapped with a no trespass order. I am shocked and embarrassed that a simple transaction turned into an embarrassing and unnecessary event. Needless to say, this establishment needs to post a clear policy about IDs for purchasers that are accompanied by nonpurchasers, so this kind of incident doesn't occur to...
Read morePrices decent and selection ok, but they gave us problems when we returned wine that proved to be undrinkable. They did take the return after I had to argue (one bottle had been opened), but said they wouldn't do it next time (spoiler alert: there will be no "next time"). Returning for reasons of poor satisfaction is standard practice for any reputable liquor store. They also wanted to keep the receipt, even though there were several other items on it. I had to ask them to make a copy, as if that shouldn't be standard practice. Had high hopes for this store as an option, but I cannot ignore poor...
Read moreI needed a couple of obscure (to me) liqueurs, and the cheapest prices I could find on the web were out in Framingham. I stopped at Market Basket Spirits not expecting them to have what I wanted, but I was surprised at the huge selection, finding exactly what I was after. The best part? Both bottles were $3 cheaper than at Total Wine. The only down side is they don't have a web site where you can check stock, but from perusing the aisles, you are likely to find what you are looking for. There is a huge wine section that I did not check out, and lots of...
