Happy to say that after having spoken with the Director of Radiology at several of the University Radiology facilities including Warren, that my concerns expressed below were adequately and appropriately addressed. The situation at the Maplewood (non-working x-ray machine) and Warren facility were fully explained to me and apologies for my inconvenience accepted. I also was advised by the director of the findings made by the reviewing radiologist. I am confident that I can return to University Radiology for any imaging that may be ordered by my physicians in the future. Hence, the change in my rating above.
Sorry to say i had a terrible experience with University Radiology and this facility in particular. Including a terrible experience leading up to how i got there from the Maplewood office. First, they say on the telephone menu for ALL University Radiology facilities that "walk ins" are fine for plain, non-procedural x-rays. I couldn't schedule with Maplewood and you can NOT get ANYONE on the telephone for University Radiology so i "walked in" to Maplewood facility only to be told their x-ray machine was being replaced. I was then referred to the Warren facility that was nearly a 20 minute drive. When i "walked in" i was told that there was no available technician to take an x-ray of my injured foot. I asked to see a supervisor, who did not address me, and then i "walked out". One of the staff came out to see me and recommended that i try the Bridgewater facility. She was kind enough to scan my script into the system and open a patient file for me to streamline the process until i could get to the Bridgewater office. The staff and technician were fine at Bridgewater and i got the x-ray done fairly quickly. But it is absolutely mind-boggling that from the time I "walked in" to Maplewood facility yesterday for a plain film to rule out fracture in my foot, no less, to the point that I finally got the x-ray imaging done, it took a total of 2-1/2 hours!!!! And as of this morning, nearly 24 hours later my ordering podiatrist has STILL not received the official read from the...
Read moreI was trying to get a MRI with contrast, they cancelled my appointment for insurance approval. My insurance said they don’t require pre authorization. Once I tried to get another appointment the receptionist was rude and sent me on a wild goose chase of not my job. Upon getting the appointment they were unable to start a vein because they said they were not qualified to handle poor veins at this facility. After being poked multiple times they got a vein and avoided me going to the emergency room for a standard MRI with contest. While in the MRI I was not instructed as to when the scan would start nor was I given over ear muffs only ear plugs to block out the noise. No one communicated with me during my first scan. When they tried to find a vein for my second scan the woman left the plastic covering on the needle on and was jabbing at my skin. Then she was like oops forgot to take it off. They poked me several times I have a huge bruise on my wrist now. They never explained anything that they were doing. When I asked for a feedback form they said I had to wait three days. It’s been over a week and still nothing. I called the office back and now she tells me that she has to contact IT because that’s not her department . I received a call back from an overseer of multiple office because Warren’s is on sick leave. She proceeded to tell me about the one time she had an IV and it was difficult to find a vein. Then blamed me and said to drink more water next time. I have had 43 surgeries in my 22 years old earth I know a thing of two about veins. I am Completely pissed off. I will never go back here again. I caution anyone else to do the same and saver...
Read moreIf I could give this group more than five stars I would. The Receptionists are so pleasant and helpful they make you feel comfortable the minute you walk in. My experience this week was so unbelievable I had to share. I was scheduled for a procedure but never received my paperwork from my doctor. I called the Radiology group and spoke to Mary. She informed me that the paperwork was never faxed by the doctor which was a problem. Mary went way above and beyond to help me. She made several calls on my behalf to help get to the doctor in time for my early morning procedure. She kept me in the loop by calling me every half hour with a status check. By 7:00 p.m. Mary called me with the news that she was able to reach the doctor and my paperwork was sent over. Thank you so much Mary for helping me through this and for going out of your way and your busy day to help a patient! More people should be as helpful as you are! Also, I need to mention Ann in MRI. Ann is the warmest and nicest person (Technician) I have ever come across. I do not do well with testing. I especially don't do well with any kind of MRI machines and luckily for me, I've had to endure just a few. However, I was so comfortable and relaxed with Ann that my procedure was less traumatic then I had anticipated. We absolutely need more people like Ann in places like MRI testing, etc. It takes a lot for anyone to make me relax in this space and Ann did just that. What a wonderful person!! Thank you so much Ann for...
