Really a poor experience. I’ve visited 3 times, my first experience NP Jennifer “diagnosed” and prescribed without looking at my concern. I literally said “look look” and she was dismissive. She started to tell me about the products that cause skin irritation, without asking me what I actually used. My skin care regime is pretty clean, so once I interjected that was quickly shut down. Nevertheless I filled the script.
A few months later I returned and saw PA, Marissa as I had no relief. She was absolutely lovely, actually looked at my skin irritation and saw my concern. She prescribed another medication as the one I got initially wasn’t even recommended for the area of concern (near the eye). She explained the medication and side effects thoroughly. She said if this didn’t work we could look at taking a skin sample for analysis. I felt hopeful. Her nurse was really helpful too in getting my script filled.
My third visit, I saw NP Jenifer again. When she walked in to the room, I attempted to share my first experience with her. I told her it was my third visit. I explained that I felt as if she just diagnosed me months ago without actually hearing me. I explained I tried to get her to look at the area of concern the first time. At that point she seem to get a little defensive. She said that what another patient might see, might not necessarily be the same thing that she sees. She mentioned that she sometimes asks other patients whether or not they are using a magnifying glass and that is they are seeing their skin concern. I was unsure why we were talking about other patients. Then she said she didn’t see the concern I was showing her. I queried - if you didn’t see the concern on my skin, why did you diagnose and prescribe? At that point she called in the doctor. The doctor was “politely patronizing” at best. His contribution was that it was “my perception of what I was seeing”. He then was honest and said he isn’t seeing what I’m seeing. I thanked him for his transparency. Then they were about to prescribe more meds! The doctor and Jennifer were discussing what I could try next. I declined. As I was paying, their conversation about me continued in another room. I could hear until it became hushed tones. That was my last visit. I’ve have since found a practice that specializes in ethnic dermatology. There is now no “perception” but an actual visible concern, and where is just better patient...
Read moreI have never been conned by a doctors office in my life until I visited this office. After waiting for 2 month for a new patient appointment where I specifically asked for cosmetic allergy testing, I was told that their protocol to receive it was to first do an 80 panel test of top allergens. After multiple visits and another 2 months for said test where I paid my specialist copay for mandatory follow-up visits and I had to wait 45+ minutes just to have my appointment rushed since they only book 15 minute slots, I fulfilled my requirements to receive the test just to be told they're not doing it because "it does not pay to do it, this is a business and we have to make money". EVERY SINGLE VISIT I had an issue with something. Wait times, staff audibly talking rudely about me so I could hear, wrong information from every person I talked to, rushed appointments. Good luck getting a call back when you have an issue.. days will go by and you will have to keep calling them yourself. I left every single appointment still having questions and not understanding what the results meant because Dr. Jen was in such a rush. I also needed an excision done where I waited over an hour, was rushed through and left just to find out to next day when the bandage fell off (2 weeks too early) that no one gave me a wound care kit I was supposed to receive along with any kind of instruction besides see ya in 2 weeks to get stitches out. They required me do testing to get to the one that I wanted and now that I've done everything they said and they have been paid suddenly its "We didn't know the price tripled, literally no one has asked for this since before covid." I asked for this specific test in July! Now, after I do everything they say and they get paid suddenly I'm told it's too expensive and they won't do it! They refuse to even have Dr. Winter call me to discuss this. ""I'll relay the message but he's not going to call you back," Heather their office manager told me today. ! I thought doctors took an oath to promise to help people. This office DOES NOT care about its patients just GETTING PAID. TRUST ME do yourself a favor and find another office who actually cares about helping you not squeezing as many people in as they can just to...
Read moreDr. Segal was short with me and spoke in a monotone voice. She lacked compassion which would have been nice as she could plainly see that I was wearing a brace and using a cane! She simply diagnosed me with dermatitis which is a very general term for any skin problems. Duh! She went to school to label my skin problem as “dermatitis?” She prescribed something that burned my face. Furthermore, Dr. Segal prescribed a cream for my eyelids, which the pharmacist warned not to use on my eyes and the box had a warning label specifically stating not to use on one’s eyes (It can could cause cataracts!)!! I have known her as long as she has been employed in this practice, and she used to smile and sound empathetic. Now she’s in a rush and has no heart! The picture on the website is not who she is now! Later, different doctors from other practices, correctly diagnosed me with rosacea on face and eye lids as a result of stress from my injury and rehab hospital stay. Soon after, still trying to get relief and answers, I went back to Dermatology of Washington Twp., where I was seen by Dr. Freedman who weakly shook my hand, was apathetic to my concerns, and unfortunately prescribed some things that, in the end, didn’t do anything for my rosacea. He was rushing and refused to discuss what I might do in the future if the prescriptions didn’t work. He treated me like a child! He was the “big doctor” and I must do what he says and not ask questions! In the end, I went to my family doctor who was compassionate, and prescribed something that DID work! She listened and was receptive to my concerns regarding future treatments. In addition, I went to my ophthalmologist, an “eyelid specialist.” She prescribed something for my eyes that worked and am pain free!!! Furthermore, I sought out other treatments that did, indeed, successfully treat my rosacea! All of these other doctors’ scripts and treatment together successfully helped/treated my rosacea! The doctors at Dermatology of Washington Township were uncompassionate...
