Our recent Sunday lunch experience really changed our opinion of Shi Chi. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants.. not now! Terrible behavior by our server & chef!! There wete 3 in our party & there was another couple with a baby at the table, too.
Our server (young lady) started out with 'we dont accept Groupons'. No hello or welcome .. We ordered drinks and I mentioned I had a credit..from an expired Living Social coupon. She got on the "Groupon" thing again. I tried to show her the credit .. (it is the $ amount paid for the coupon) FINALLY, after several minutes of discussion, she made note of the credit on our order. We ordered an appetizer.. and our meals. A scallop dinner (extra egg yoke sauce) & 2 steak & scallop lunches .. one with the egg yolk sauce.
The chef came out & confirmed orders & asked how we wanted the steaks - which was medium. My daughter had asked about what one of our sauces was and he stated what it was called..She said but what is it? He responded very rudely .. what do you want it to be called? You can call it whatever you want. Then, she explained..just wanted to know the contents..He said he didnt know.. he only knows about ketchup. That set the atmosphere. Chef (Avoka) did not do the normal routine with the knives, etc. while cooking. We treated him cordially & thanked as he served but little to no conversation. During the meal, I had to get up and get a refill on water myself because server did not come by.. The manager was wiping a table across room.. when he looked up and saw me - he said with a giggle.. ha ha sorry 'bout that. Our steaks were over cooked & we told server. My friend thot she was getting filet .. but we actually got NY strip. It was too tuff to chew ..she did not eat it I chewed on a few pieces.. We received nothing regarding this .. no redo or reduced meal price for the steak.
This is not the 1st incident of a rude chef at Shi Chi that I know about .. Another frequent customer said their family experienced bad service and rude remarks within the past couple of months. It's a shame that they continue to employ staff with such attitudes and poor customer service.
We are not planning to go back and will definitely share our experience with...
Read moreI visit the Dublin Sawmill Shopping Center whenever I am shopping at the Trader Joe's at 6355 Sawmill Rd.
Many years in the past, I would visit the Dublin Sawmill Shopping Center whenever I would be shopping for CDs at one of the four central Ohio locations of Camelot Music [that had gone out of business perhaps twenty years ago].
Entering and leaving the Dublin Sawmill Shopping Center can be a challenge because that shopping center is located very close to a major intersection where most left turns into shopping centers are prohibited. I strongly suggest that you plan ahead before traveling to the Dublin Sawmill Shopping Center.
If you are traveling from the south [which is my most common route], I strongly recommend taking Martin Rd. west from Sawmill Rd. [a left turn] and then taking Marcy Lane north [a right turn] to where Marcy Lane starts to curve towards the west [left]. At that point, turn north [right] into the shopping center and then turn east [right] at the first opportunity; Trader Joe's will be on your right.
If you are traveling from the east, the same Martin Rd. that I had mentioned in the previous paragraph will be a left turn from Dublin-Granville Rd. immediately after the "classic" McDonald's that is on the right [north] side of Dublin-Granville Rd. and then follow the same...

What I don't like is how crowded and uncomfortable it is when trying to get around. I feel as if everytime I go other customers are so rude and will just bump into you or step directly in front of you or even tail gate you forcing you to move. It's extremely uncomfortable, especially with a baby.
Also, I would love to see your store carry the trader Joe's brand tequila and bringing back the famous wine specials. Or incorporating new specials or...
