We were craving Indian food and we always pass Curry Up, so we decided to try it this time.
There's plenty of parking in front and behind the plaza. There's plenty of tables inside and space to eat, it was empty when we went during dinner time. The restaurant itself is modern and clean, cozy, and quiet. It gives you a modern look with small cozy business vibes.
The first thing we noticed when walking in is that there was a sign stating their prices have increased, starting at $9.90 per dish, which isn't terrible but when we checked out, each chicken entree was $10.30 (original menu was less than $9). We also didn't get much sauce or chicken in our meal, it was barely enough for the amount of rice we were given. We added 2 Naan breads and each piece was about $3.20. Goat isade to order and takes a few more minutes to make, if you order it.
I ordered the chicken, rice, got all toppings, and Roga Josh sauce on top. I was really excited to try it and at first, it tasted like traditional Indian but the more I ate it, the more I didn't enjoy it. The sauce is good, but it was missing something and wasn't as seasoned as I expected; spicy but not seasoned. We tried the Korma sauce and that was better than I expected; it was flavorful and seasoned well. The topics were okay, seemed like generic out of a can or cut veggies toppings (corn, carrot, chickpea, cucumber, onion, etc.). Overall, it's was an okay meal, nothing special or unique. I was a bit disappointed. However, their Naan was my favorite part because it was buttery and delicious; it's not crunchy or crispy if that's what you're looking for, but super soft and fluffy.
Overall, the staff was nice and helpful but the food didn't satisfy me. I was really hoping for more and I can see why people like the food here, but it wasn't for me. I do recommend it if you're looking for decent...
Read moreHands down this is the best Indian restaurant I've been to in the US. It's not your typical place with greasy food that leaves your clothes smelling like masala.
The menu is very innovative and the flavors have been carefully selected to complement each other. No matter which protein or gravy you select, the dish will taste good. I'm vegetarian and was hesitant to try the tofu, as I'd not seen it made with Indian flavors. I'm glad I did though, it was so flavorful and out of this world!
Then we come to the appetizers. My husband and I tried the mini samosas and dahi puri. We expected the taste to be good, what we didn't expect was that they would be freshly made! Seriously, even in India they don't make them fresh just for you.
Curry Up is not a chain restaurant and it shows in the food and service. The owner took me through the various flavors and explained them while making my entree, which is a blessing for those who aren't too familiar with Indian food (I am but it was still good to know).
For the food, value and service I would give more than 5 stars if only I could. Since it's only about 5 minutes from home, I'll be visiting for dinner...
Read moreI’ve told the owner I was going to leave a review for the last year and I figured it’s time I finally do that. Some weeks I’m there 5 times a week (don’t judge me). The food is fantastic and inexpensive, and I’m incredibly picky when it comes to my taste buds. I can’t speak highly enough of the food, but one of the reasons I love eating there so much is because the owner, his wife, and all of their staff are some of the most genuinely enjoyable people to pop in and say hey to. There have been times id order my food and it would get cold as I stood around talking to him. I love this restaurant and everything that comes with it. Kinda miss the old bowls still, but the spicy rice and delightful paneer (seriously, I can’t stand mushy paneer, and theirs is always the perfect consistency for me) make up for the switch.
If you’ve driven past it a few times and wondered enough to come read these reviews, go check it out. This is my favorite...
