The four star rating gave me high hopes and had me excited for a nice, cozy meal to curl up on the couch with but, here I am, writing a review that I wish I didnt have to. Maybe I came on an off day, maybe they weren't able to get the normal ingredients they usually use to provide service others before me have enjoyed so much more. Whatever the reason, today spun a tale of misery.
I began my meal with my go to Chinese restaurant starter, crab Rangoon. What is normally a crispy, flaky, cream cheese filled treat was but a flat, wet tortilla chip like product with a mere squirt of crab and cream.
Moving beyond my dismal appetizer, I came to the beef lo mein which I suppose could technically be described as such. There WAS beef and there WERE noodles but the beef was dry and chopped into small, flavorless bits accompanied by overcooked noodles that could be crushed into mush with little or no effort.
Along with my main course was a bowl full of General Tso's chicken. Chicken so underseasoned and absent of taste that if presented to General Tso himself, would surely get the chef court martialed.
As if, somehow poetically, I ended my meal as many other Chinese food dinners, with a fortune cookie. Hoping to bring some sort of good fortune to this terrible excuse for a dinner, I cracked it open but the only fortune to be found was that true happiness escapes me for this night as I bit into the stale cookie.
I sincerely hope this was a one off experience and that anyone who comes here enjoys an amazing meal that they love so much they come time and time again but this reviewer will just go to Panda...
Read moreOn 02/23/2022 was my first time eating at New Chopsticks. I saw this location one day when I was going to Subway which is a couple of doors down. And I said I need to check out this restaurant, so here I am. I was not sure what I wanted to order, so to play it safe I ordered shrimp fried rice because I saw a picture online of the fried rice and it looked good. But when I ordered the shrimp fried rice it did not taste the way it looked. I’m sorry to say that it did not have any flavor at all other than the soy sauce they cooked it in, but the shrimp were really tender. Wow this location do not have to worry about me coming back sorry! BUT IF YOU WANT GOOD CHINESE FOOD TRAVEL 40 MINUTES AWAY TO A PLACE CALLED CHINA HOUSE IN CANAL WINCHESTER ITS WORTH THE DRIVE BELIEVE ME YOU...
Read moreI'm pretty disappointed in this restaurant, as it's the closest one to our house and we've only had it once and that was enough for us. The major issue is that I've been dealing with food poisoning from this place for the last couple days. What's going on has only happened once before with another chinese place we don't eat at anymore either. The food wasn't worth it as well. The egg roll was full of cabbage with no meat, the general tso's chicken was grisley and fatty, and the chicken fried rice was more bean sprouts than chicken. I can see why the prices are so low, the quality definitely isn't there. I don't know how it's rated so high on Google, but we won't be returning after our...
