Good experience overall. I'm 32 and most people on Friday night were younger but were respectful. Sometimes there were young tiny kids zipping around the rink, but if you do your thing they will go around you. I got rental skates with the person I was with, they were a bit loose. I had to tie twice, once after using them a bit after the laces settled. I think buying a cheap used pair (if not new) of skates would have been better since these are a universal fit. After tightening a second time they fit decently well. Make sure go wear long socks! I skated for a couple hours, with the zamboni half way through. The ice was very rough when I first went, but was a lot better after the zamboni. 2 adults with 2 skate rentals were only $20, cheaper than what their website says which is a good bonus. Staff at the front desk were friendly and fast, answering a couple questions I had. Restroom was decent enough considering there were a hundred high schoolers around. I did not try the food. Locker rentals are $0.50 for one use, after closing you will forfeit the money when you need to open it again. Overall a good experience, even though they were busy people stayed out of the way the best they could and were respectful.
Only 2 complaints: I wish people wouldn't hold onto hands when in a group and make a chain. The other was people going very fast casing me to be nervous about running into them. They did announce not to go too fast or the opposite direction so that helped. The daisy chain people would make made me a little...
Read moreI’m a big fan of the Chiller locations, MINUS this one. I never had many issues here besides inattentive and rude staff. But today marks the day I’ll never be back. One of the female employees was figure skating and doing tricks on the clock (fine whatever that doesn’t bother me. have fun doing your job, you should). What DOES bother me is the fact kids were falling and getting hurt, while she is video recording and having her co-worker take pics of her. Making the kids, some who were hurt and crying, get up on their own. Never even made sure they were okay. On top of this, both female coworkers would repeatedly sit down and go on their phones and not pay any attention. The male employee (one of them) at the front desk was very condescending as well and rude. I’ll definitely stick to Easton and Chiller North. The better locations.
Edited due to the owner response: I wouldn’t let the actions of a young, learning employee steer me away. But this is every time I’m there. And these were two GROWN WOMEN. Not...
Read moreFacilities are pretty nice here admittedly. Probably the cleanest and best equipped rink in Cbus.
Hockey services are decent, leagues and coaches have been good to our three hockey kids.
Front desk staff can be inattentive and borderline rude though. Lots of times I've gone to the front counter and had to leave because I couldn't find any employee. I asked a guy for a rubber band once, which is fine if they didn't have one, but he just angrily said "NO!" without even bothering to look.
Chiller doesn't enforce it's own policies. Every time I come here, there are tons of parents in the lobby changing their kids despite the sign that says to use the locker rooms. Extremely crowded as a result.
Despite the amount of space, there is a hugely obvious lack of seating around and...
