We usually go to the Hilliard location and have always had a great experience. Tonight we met family at the Dublin/Plain City location and had a very poor experience. We were greeted warmly and sat quickly for our party of 8. The restaurant was not busy. It took almost 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. The drinks did arrive quickly. Our food took over 45 minutes for the main courses to arrive. Our server never came back to see if we needed refills (everyone at the table did). And when my father in law asked to see the manager and explained to him the problems with the food - a grilled cheese that was burnt black and had to be sent back and a burger that was also black and over cooked (ordered medium) - the manager sounded more annoyed that actually sorry when he apologized for the issues. He said he would take off the meals or give a gift card. My father in law said he’d take the gift card so maybe everything would be better next time and he’d keep coming back. The manager returned with the gift card, said “here’s $25” and walked away. I had to ask twice for a box for my food because the waitress forgot inside of 3 minutes when she brought the bill (which was brought quickly). Other than being seated quickly the rest of our experience was very negative. If the servers and cooks attitude reflect the manager’s attitude, the poor customer service will continue. I hope this review makes it to the general manager.
UPDATE* I wanted to reach back out after our last experience at this location. The operating partner had reached out to me after my submission about poor service and poor meal quality. She emailed me and offered a gift card and a promise of better everything. On Sunday October 12th, 7 of the 8 people that experienced the poor service during our last visit went again to dinner together. The OP had a table for us and hand picked the server (Austin). Austin did a great job of waiting on our table, following up on refills/napkins/etc. Our meals were served in a timely fashion and everyone enjoyed their meal. Thanks to the much better service and quality of our meals, we will continue to meet at this location for dinners in the future. I wanted to thank you for making things right and the OP's quick response to my original email and her...
Read moreThis is the first time we have had an issue with our meal. We come here 18 mi. from where we live. Our regular server Marissa is one of the reasons we come here. She was off today and we had Kennedy who was equally as good she is.
Now here is where the issue begins. Alissa the manager I guess really needs to learn customer service skills. It was busy at the bar and she was helping out.
We asked for extra napkins got what she gave us along with the stink eye. No extra napkins. When my food came out I had ordered boneless wings plain with sauce on the side. My sauce was spilled in the basket and my had dressing all over the outside of the salad bowl I ordered.
I told her the presentation was not very good. She offered to remake both which was nice. I said it was fine was just trying to be constructive for the next person and did not want to raise your food costs. When I had told her this would have not happened if Marissa was working. Right away she thought I was attacking Kennedy which was not the case.
Once again both girls have waited on me and my wife before and we received excellent service from both of them.
We were ready leave at this point and time due to the way Allissa treated us. My wife stated we are not coming back here again.
We let the smoke clear and finished our meal. We explained to Kennedy we had no issue with her and the service we received from her. It was Alissa . We even ordered a to go order of boneless wings minus sauce since the boneless wings are so good.
I hope this reaches the proper person to correct the issue we had with the manager or whatever her capacity is. We spent over $60 along with a very...
Read moreA mediocre rating for perhaps one of the most fascinatingly mediocre restaurants I've been to. There are all sorts of classic diner items available on the menu—sandwiches, wings, pizzas, pasta bowls, tacos, —and I think that's to their detriment. This restaurant is a jack of all trades; good at plenty of things, but really great at none of them. It kinda reminds me of those old pizza restaurants with the pepper flakes and parmesan shakers at every table, the pizza sitting under warming lamps, those thick red plastic Pepsi glasses, etc., but as a sit-down restaurant for every bar plate you could imagine.
I can recall getting the pepperoni pizza, the buffalo chicken wrap, the Italian sub, and the Carolina BBQ pork sandwich during my visits, and finding that there was something just a little off about each of them. The pizza has a strange saccharine aftertaste, the chicken and pork were just a bit too dry, the ingredients in the sub didn't "fall together"; it was all OK, but just not great.
On the positive side, the servers are always so kind! They will make sure you enjoy yourself. The portions also tend to be quite big for the prices; you WILL be full. I suppose that's what I see as the real point of the place: fill up with friends, have some drinks,...
