I purchased a credenza on clearance for use as a console below a large screen TV. Although I lived in the DC area for many years and had previously purchased other furniture from Theodore's, I had recently moved out of the area, and had to have the credenza shipped across the country. Marian was extremely helpful throughout the process. She responded promptly to my inquiry about whether Theodore's could arrange for the credenza to be shipped, got bids from multiple shippers, and arranged for the shipping as well as answering my questions about the credenza and providing her own photos. She also followed up with the shipper once they picked up the credenza from the store. The shipper delivered the credenza in perfect condition and the delivery team was very professional. This company is shuttering its operations at the end of the month. They assure me that they will honor all warranty commitments, but….. I have concerns given that my sofa ( a new product, not yet reviewed) is now at the local warehouse; delivery is not available until the end of July; and Theodore’s turns over all remaining inventory, etc to the buyer as of August 1st. For the $221 fee and a local delivery, I would expect prompt delivery from their warehouse. It would give me a little more breathing space. I fully enjoyed my experience in working with Theodore's, they have great selection, fantastic designs and excellent service from initial visit through delivery. I am a professional designer and painfully picky -- they had the perfect set of Italian-post-modern style dining chairs that the absolute best design and most comfortable I found in the entire DC area (and I searched every upscale store we have here). I can sit in them for hours! The pricing was comparable, if not competitive, to other high-quality furniture resources both in-town and online.
