Paying close to $5,000 in rent monthly. havenât had a single month where something didnât go wrong.
No cameras in the parking lot.
Elevators have been going out weekly. Took me 15 minutes to get downstairs because one elevator was only working.
Electricity goes out once a month or every other month (so goodbye groceries). Goodluck working from home those days. Oh and fire alarm goes off every month (sometime they are nice enough to let you know in advance) sometimes itâs randomly and they decide wether to announce itâs a test or not so youâre left wondering should I evacuate or not?
New policy where you have to turn in your ID to use the luggage cart or pull cart thatâs in the mail room if you want to bring up your grocery delivery. Front desk girl canât be bothered to bring the cart out if you donât have your ID or something of value to trade in for the cart. Implement a sign out sheet! Same as the pool.
Wristbands were needed to see the 4th of July fireworks from rooftop so no luck in bringing friends or family. Leasing office canât be bothered to reply to emails when you inquire bout renting the common areas.
They invite you to the leasing office and guilt you to take down negative reviews. Oh and REVA had no AC during the Fourth of July.
Weird pool policy where you have to sign in, the pool is 3ft deep if lifeguard goes on break you gotta get out of the pool.
Super small gym! For a building so large.
Awful matte cabinets, that youâll have to wipe down anytime after you use your kitchen.
Thin walls you can hear your neighbors and outside noise. The windows arenât tinted well so the sun just cooks your rooms you can see into the Reva and vice versa so thatâs weird.
Mandatory to sign up with their wifi. You pay crazy shared common electricity fees for the hallways and common areas.
Some other tenant have had flooding happen when thereâs big storms. Maintenance is great however they are not paid extra in holidays so thatâs messed up.
Great location, but too many problems with current management and building.
Stop falling for the positive reviews people do after tours. I been living here for 9 months wonât...
Read moreIf you are going to live here you will be inconvenienced at times. Iâve lived in other luxury buildings where the price you pay is equal to the service.
Maintenace, front desk and management are all great, their responses are prompt. But the building itself has a lot of issues. For it being a new building every month is something new. They had an ant infestation, someone car window was broken, electricity went out for 3 days during October, hot water and heat went out just this past week. Theyâve provided adequate reimbursement and have apologized for any issues that arise. The gym is extremely small for the amount of apartments, if thereâs more than 3 people in the gym it feels crowded.
You get charged unreasonable charges for shared electricity and heat for common spaces but the elevators and hallways are constantly cold throughout the winter. The walls are thin, I can hear neighbors dogs, sometimes you can hear outside noise even if you live on the upper floors (planes, trains, ambulances). Also if your neighbor is cooking or burning something the smell through the apartment vents will seep into your apartment. The heat and cooling is off some rooms in your apartment will be cooler or hotter than others.
The area is great many restaurants, less than a 5 minute walk to the train station. Less than a 10 minute ride to the airport. But the building needs some fixing in its hvac system, pricing, ventilation for you to feel okay about paying almost...
Read moreYou canât make this up. Too many issues and lack of service for a new building at a luxury price point. First, JBG should sue their HVAC contractor. I attached a photo of the fresh air vent they have built in every units entryway. Itâs 90 degrees out, why would I want 90 degree air blowing into my apartment? This is a common occurrence and the hallways are never cooled either. All HVAC ventilation in the unit is on the ceiling level and thereâs 1 single vent in the bedrooms. In order to cool our master bedroom at night we have to manually close every vent in the apartment and turn it down to 66 degrees.
The Grace uses a 3rd party company called CONservice (irony in the name)to charge you a common area utility charge which is illegal in VA unless a 3rd party does it for the landlord/owner. This ranges anywhere from $120-$180 per month in addition to your other utilities like their mandatory WiFi provider of $60 per month. Oh yeah, and the windows in the gym are wide open with the AC or heat blasting pretty much all day.
Quite a few power outages and the elevators seem to have programming issues and often under repair.
They have one security camera in the parking garage and itâs at the entrance. Car got hit? Thatâs an unfortunate eventâŚ.
Overall, it has been a very disappointing time for what we planned on being a great...
