My rating is based on my customer service experience on 05/12/2023 at this location. Yes, it is Mother's Day weekend, so that is the most likely reason the store was so "busy". In any case, I wanted to find a plain pair of studs/small hoops for myself, so I decided to visit this store. I think there were about 5 people working. When we first arrived, one lady did verbally greet us and say that someone would assist as soon as they could. My companion and I were able to walk around the entire store without any further engagement from the employees. I showed interest in about 4 pairs of earrings (2 pairs in a shared display case on one side of the room, and luckily, 2 more pairs on the opposite side in another shared case which I believe was the clearance section). So after about 10 minutes, I asked my partner if we had waited enough--we both agreed it was time to go. I don't know if this company's policy is that reps avoid multi-tasking i.e. assisting more than one party at a time; but, if so, they are doing a great job..... since I knew what I wanted, I literally only needed to know the price of the items I was considering in order to make a decision. No one took the time to assess the reason for our visit, which literally would have taken 30 seconds. At least twice I was in close proximity to two reps--one man assisting a couple at the front right of the store (if facing the exit) and a woman on that same side of the store assisting a guy in the final stages of picking out a gift (as I overheard while browsing). Neither rep took the opportunity to engage with us. It felt like more of a missed opportunity for the saleswoman, because when her client was on his phone, I thought she would take the opportunity to make contact with me. Oh well! Just thought I'd add to the feedback. Seems like a reasonable opportunity for growth at this location.
In any case, I visited Enchantments in Fanwood today for the first time, and purchased two pairs of earrings. Great customer service! I will visit/purchase again, and highly recommend it.
So maybe it is a good thing afterall that I wasn't assisted at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were sold a ring that didn't and couldn't fit my finger. Sales guy measured my finger and told me I was a size 5. I wore my engagement ring for 10 months thinking I was crazy that the ring felt so big and was always spinning. When I went back to get it resized, I was told the ring was a size 6. When I asked to size it smaller, they told me they couldn't size it smaller than that without damaging the integrity of the diamonds! I was beyond frustrated that I had been flat out lied to about the size (and ability to resize) my ring, and heartbroken that my engagement ring wouldn't be able to fit me! (Also, just to further it... when we eventually went to a different jeweler, I was told I was actually a size 4.5. So beyond being sold a size that was not what he told me, he hadn't even properly sized me in the first place...)
I give 2 stars only because Siya (not sure if that's the correct spelling) gave us such wonderful service when we came across this problem. Of course this issue was no fault of hers, and she was beyond sympathetic and helpful of us trying to resolve the issue. She offered sizing beads but I was worried those would irritate my finger. When it was clear there was no other solution (other than for me to wear a ring that didn't fit for the rest of my life) she gave us a full refund on the ring.
Overall I suppose it seems there are some very helpful very capable employees at this store, but some that will do anything (even lie) to make a sale. If you are going to come here, I would just recommend making sure you know what you're talking about, and can check everything they tell you before you spend any money. Also, work with Siya. She was...
