Read moreThey ordered and sold me a pair of shoes that were too small and refused to exchange them. I had been going to this store on a regular basis for 20 years because it was recommended for people with problem feet. They were the only shoe store that would sell me a pair of shoes that fit that would support my foot, I have a very large, wide foot. However, the last time I went in April 2015, I told them as soon as I got there that I wanted the EXACT same style and size of shoes I was wearing because they fit my feet but were worn out. They ordered me a pair of shoes that was a size too small (they even measured my feet, and they were between two sizes, so they ordered the smaller of the two sizes) When I picked the shoes up, I told them they were too small. They told me to wear them for a week and let them know if I was still having problems. My feet were hurting as soon as I put them on and my orthotics were barely fitting in them, so I went back a week later. They told me to wear them for 2 more weeks and told me to come back if I was still having problems. I did that and he said give them another week but that he was sure that he sold me the exact same shoe as the one I had before. I went home and found the old shoe box and the size marked on it was the bigger size. At that point I went back and they said there was nothing they could do for me because if they sold me the same size as before, it would be bad for my foot. My feet STILL hurt when I put on this shoe because it is too small, and it has been 10 months since I bought the shoes. A waste of $150. I will have to go straight to the shoe company to order the right size for me I guess. I am so disappointed, I thought I had finally found a retailer that would work with me, but I guess...
Read moreSince 1978 Runnin' Gear has been an institution in Oakland County under owner/operator Paul Coughlin. In May 2025 the torch was passed to Rodney Reneski and Antonio Romano. If you appreciated the passion, warmth and knowledge that Paul provided, you won't be disappointed when you meet Rodney & Antonio. The shoe selection at the store has been expanded to include ON, Saucony, 361, Altra and most recently Mount to Coast. Nutrition has also been enhanced. Garmin and Coros watches are in stock. These guys know these products because they use them. Do you think this store is only for runners? Think again. Your pace doesn't matter. Walker, jogger or runner, recreational or competitive, adolescent or senior citizen, it's your shoes that matter! Anyone who works in a field where you're on your feet all day needs to get fitted here. If you're having back pain or hip pain, it might be your shoes. Make some time, drop in and shop local, you will not be sorry. I put in 2,000 miles a year running. I've bought six pairs of shoes here since May and I will keep coming back because these guys care like...
