ReStore — Local services in Waterloo

Some of the stuff at ReStore in Waterloo is affordable. Of course, you need to keep in mind that most of the stuff is used & often 'not' gently used. What surprised me the most was the new appliances, including washing machines & refrigerators. The price they had on them seemed extortionate. There wasn't really much of a description on them or any useful details. Maybe it's me, but if I'm going to spend in excess of $1100 dollars I would play it safe & purchase big ticket items at a nearby lumber yard, Best Buy, or appliance store. I kind of thought the purpose of ReStore was to build homes or rehabing them while keeping them affordable using volunteers to keep the cost down. I was under the impression that ReStore sold any extra material or donated stuff at a reasonable price, so it was a win-win. I have nothing bad to say about this store because the reason it exists is so righteous. I go frequently just to wander through and see what new treasures they have acquired. I always see something that's nostalgic at least. And I've found some pretty cool stuff more than a few times. Sometimes the pricing feels a bit inconsistent but that could be due to the nature of how they came about that particular item. Again, no complaints just an observation.
