This was my first time going here and it was ok despite the reviews. They definitely did remodel the place compared to other reviews, so the decor is now spot on. The bars included a pretty basic selection, but most of it was terribly bland. Even went as far as to try all the meats offered. Like the shrimp, crawfish, whole fish, crab, chicken ect. All I can say is salt and other seasonings will be what you seek. There was sadly only 3 types of sushi at the cold bar which was very unfortunate considering it has sushi in the name. I did however appreciate the Covid-19 restrictions they had in place. Like how you can only be unmasked at your table and must wear gloves each time you get food. It was unfortunate to have a back booth on one side of the restaurant, then watched as they filled the room with people a bit less than 6 feet away from us making it a bit cramped when there was an entire section unfilled on the other side of the restaurant. For a family of three at dinner the price was $37 with tax. (Two adults and a 6 year old) It was $12.89 per adult then $8.89 for a child 5-7. Drinks are included and self served, but can't say I agree with the price based on what was offered. Considering I have been to other Hibachi restaurants outside of state, this does not live up to the price at all. Overall, the service was ok. They explained what to expect and where everything was so it was very easy to follow. Since I have been in Iowa I have wanted a Hibachi buffet, so we decided to try it since there isn't one anywhere in this area, but can't say I would return here based on price and lack of selection. Plus, I like seasonings! Definitely worth a try though if you are looking for something different or want to explore and have...
Read moreThe last chinese buffet in Waterloo. This is a pay before you eat buffet. $15-16 for dinner. You grab you cup, napkins, and silverware yourself. If you’d like a fortune at the end of the meal you also grab that near the front. I would not recommend going an hour/ hour and a half before close Because they do not restock items that are out. Some items are even like warm.
This buffet has many many options to choose from. There are American options like chicken nuggets and ribs. I believe there are onion rings and fries as well.
There used to be a hibatchi grill where they made food fresh for you, but that is closed. There are napkins and boxes covering the grill. The sushi bar is no longer used. The sushi is placed on the cold bar
Here are other options that I can remember off of the top of my head. *= personal favorite

Read moreOn our 1st visit, The main Asian lady hostess / Manager was not very inviting or welcoming. She seemed very stern, strict, serious. We arrived for lunch and didn't notice but they started putting out dinner items and she rushed over to make sure we could READ the signs "Dinner Only"! How degrading! 🤔 The building is old, worn and not well taken care of. The Sushi Bar was made into "Storage". We go to the popular Hibatchi SUSHI Buffet for the fresh Sushi, good atmosphere and service! This location is FAR from the quality of other Hibachi locations and does not deserve the name! 2nd Visit, Same Asian ladies, not welcoming but not rude this time accept major pointing in demand to the waitress girl to do a table. Warm bread biscuits were crisp on the bottom. I got my wife and I eggdrop soup and there was something black in on that did not belong. I showed the young lady. Nothing. A couple other items were substandard but in all the buffet was "okay". And the Men's restroom smelled bags for my 2nd use. Needs a smell good automatic...
