We were fortunate to go to the soft opening of The Blind Pig Butcher & Market. Living nearby, we had watched first hand the renovations to the existing building and property. It has a very quaint and welcoming feel to it. Enticed by the offerings in the meat cases, we purchased several items including Arkansas Bacon, Boneless Chops, Ground Beef, Hot Honey Fresh Links, Secreto Steaks, and 840 Farm Chicken eggs. We had originally planned on dining out that night but decided to head home and try out some of our purchases. The bacon and eggs were delicious and that Hot Honey Sausage is out of this world! We are always happy to support locally owned business owners who are invested in their community. We will definitely go back to the market....

I visited @theblindpigtx for the first time this evening. Located in the haunted (erstwhile) Catfish Plantation, 840 Farm owners have brought to downtown Waxahachie this butcher, honestly - collaboration. The owners proudly feature a specialty store full of other small business foods to complement their meats. As a family who owns a historic home in Waxahachie, I appreciate the love, sweat, and tears that went into the restoration of this house; it’s so honest, she might not be haunted anymore! The storefront includes ample inside and outside spaces to snack on charcuterie, locally sourced crackers, sweets, yogurt, and kombucha. So worth the short road trip from Dallas! Absolutely stellar new butcher shop. Charming on the outside and the inside with “sophisticated country” decor. The selection from 840Farm’s acclaimed pasture-raised Mangalista pork to Duck eggs (for baking) to fresh sourdough bread to curated selection of pickles, pasta, salamis, beef and more will cover your charcuterie board (which they sell) or a hearty dinner. We sat on the porch and “lingered longer”. Can’t wait until they offer sandwiches on site. My friend and I delight in supporting a local, family owned business. Congratulations...
