I recently discovered a 5 inch split in the solid oak dining room table I purchased at Derbyshire furniture. I was shocked because my beautiful table was only six months old.

When I called the store to find out my possible options to repair it, Mary ( the person who became my contact and advocate) assured me the company would take care of it. Boy, did those words become an understatement!

After seeing the photos of the crack in my tabletop, Mary promised that Derbyshire would replace it. For the next three months, Mary kept me informed of the status of each step of the process. She called when she said she would call. She was accessible every time I called or emailed her with a question. NO COMPANY DOES THAT!

Last week I received word my tabletop was ready to be delivered. When the men arrived, to our amazement, they brought in not only a beautifully made brand new tabletop but new legs and leaves as well! They wanted the entire table to match and this was the way to insure that would happen. We were overwhelmed. This company cared about its customers. They stand behind their product!

Well, where do I start. The overly priced furniture or the rude old man salesman? I’ve been in sales and as such your approach is to find out your customers needs and also try to make a connection while achieving both. Not here, at least not today. What can you say about a sales person who’s pitch is “ it’s guaranteed for life” I may not want it or need the item for life, it’s not a marriage after all. Tastes change people move on.
