After posting this review I was blocked by the stylist
It’s been almost a year since my experience at Salon & Co and I’m finally ready to talk about it. I paid nearly $1500 for extensions here, and they were completely botched. From the color, to the install. They also only lasted for about two months. My stylist first colored them to be too cool toned, which left them being grey. I contacted her several times trying to explain how I felt like the hair was grey and she continued to tell me “It looks like how it did when you left to me!” And would try to convince me it blended when it absolutely did not. Finally, after that she took me dark to cover up the grey. Colored my hair and the extensions. After they were colored though, they were EXTREMELY rough and I had insane fall out everytime I brushed my hair. It took her three rounds of coloring in one sitting to get it dark enough to cover the grey, and those three processes definitely damaged the integrity of the hair. I was so disappointed. During this time period where I was battling with the color, I also had multiple wefts fall out multiple times. I either had to Bobby pin them back in to just hold, wear my hair in a pony tail, or go back to the salon to get it re-sewn in. After the color issue, we finally decided to purchase new hair because the old hair had been ruined within just a MONTH of me owning it. So I shelled out another $600+ dollars on new hair, none of which the stylist helped pay for even though she was the one who ruined the first order of hair. Hair that is extremely expensive. Once we got the new hair in, we installed it and the color was so much better and I was so much happier with it. However, the issue of the wefts falling out? STILL happening. I finally saw a different stylist at the salon and she informed me that my extensions were installed incorrectly and that they weren’t tied off correctly which is why they kept falling out. She had to completely remove every single row, rebead and resew my hair. This appointment cost me another $400. This was my last straw, and I reached out to my stylist to let her know I was unhappy, and she didn’t take any accountability for it. She told me that ordering new hair was my preference and not her “fix” even though the hair had been ruined which she confirmed when I saw her. After finally standing up for myself and telling her I was unhappy with my experience, she then had the salon call me and tell me I would be best suited with a new stylist. Also - after I stopped seeing my old stylist, it came to my attention that she WAS NOT even licensed. I had no idea she was still considered a student, I thought she had her license and was a junior stylist at this salon. My stylists name was Lex (Alexis Marie) (hairbypanfit). I just wouldn’t recommend this salon over all especially since they didn’t make it obvious that my stylist wasn’t even licensed. My kindness and patience was 100% taken advantage of during...
Read moreRuined my hair and still had me pay for it. I saw one stylist, who beforehand told me she could take my gold blonde hair to white blonde. After she toned my hair and started drying it, it was a charcoal green color. The stylist ended up crying and leaving the salon. No apology. While I was standing in the front waiting to figure out what to do next, another stylist asked me if I was checking in, because my hair looked so unfinished. I cried.
Then, the owner Kenzie and the manager saw me and offered to “fix” my hair. They washed it, toned it, and then my hair was pink. At first, she tried to gaslight me to say I “must have” put red dye in my hair at one point (which I never have). Then, the owner said she would need to re-highlight everything to get the pink out. I trusted her. I spent 8 hours at the salon, so I was exhausted by the end. They said I still needed to pay because “product expenses” and I naively agreed in the moment. I just wanted out of the salon.
6 days later, my hair is breaking. The top layer of hair is falling out. There’s streaks of pink in my hair. I contacted the owner, Kenzie, asking for a refund because I will now need to buy product to save my hair & get it redone. I even sent pictures. She refused, saying I didn’t say anything bad when I left the salon. I was tired, emotionally drained. Of course I didn’t notice these things in the moment. I tried explaining myself but she just kept copying and pasting the same response of “we don’t do refunds.”
I showed up to the salon today, 4/9, to show them my hair quality and the issues with it along with pictures of my hair before I had it done there. I was almost in tears explaining how upset I was with my hair. The owner acknowledged that my hair did not end up the way I wanted, but that there was “nothing she could do.” I asked her why I would have to pay if they messed up my hair and didn’t provide the service I came for, to which she said “no refunds.” When I asked her what she would do if she was me, she had no response. She said I just “kept repeating myself” and then kicked me out of the salon and blocked me on social media.
Unless you want to take the risk of them messing up your hair and having to pay for it, go somewhere else. Not even the owner has respect...
