Casablanca Halal Store might be one of the few halal meat options in the area, but that doesnât give them the right to treat customers with such attitude and disrespect. I had a really unpleasant experience at the meat counter, The man handling the meat â a short guy with black hair â was extremely rude. I asked for two whole chickens, and he just threw them into a bag without asking any questions. When I told him I wanted them cut into pieces, he snapped, âYou have to tell that before,â in a very disrespectful tone. I was confused â how was I supposed to know their process when he never asked?
I then asked for two big whole chickens cut into pieces, and while he was pulling out the chicken from the cooler, he muttered a curse word in Spanish. I understood what he said, and I felt so embarrassed â especially since I had brought my mom along.
Trying to stay polite, I said I wanted small cuts and asked if he could pack them into 3â4 bags to make storage easier. Again, he very rudely said no, and when I said âplease,â he still refused. I was so uncomfortable that I just left without arguing.
When I got home, I kept wondering if I had done something wrong. But after reading other reviews, I realized Iâm not the only one â many others had bad experiences with this same person. Itâs frustrating because theyâre one of the only halal stores in the area, and they act like theyâre doing customers a favor just by being there.
I sincerely hope the management takes this seriously. Good products mean nothing if customers feel disrespected...
Read moreI went to buy chicken yesterday, we were waiting while the meat guy weighing the chicken and then he is packing in bag.. I said âcan you cut small piecesâ, usually they will ask whether to cut chicken or not⌠he gave reply very rudely âUSE YOUR MOUTHâ and the chicken was not properly cut off. I wish I took picture of chicken. Later I told to one of staff âcan you ask that meat guy with white apron to speak respectfully with customersâ and explained the situation.. They called the meat guy and that meat guy started yelling, it was so embarrassing. I suddenly thought May be it was my mistake to come to buy. I shared with my friends the experience they also mentioned oh that old and short guy, he will give answer very rudely and if we go around meat closing time he will start scolding, still the owner kept him or didnât guide him how to speak with customers. I am not asking to speak English fluently, I hope they can use please, sorry, we are sorry the meat section closed, kind of small words respectfully....
Read moreFantastic Halal, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern market. Go there often to purchase dates, personal obsession, baklava and halva, among other items. Excellent selection of spices as well. Store is very clean, staff is helpful and pleasant. Not always the case in Halal markets, most staff at many others look upon me being Western with an aura of suspicion. Not at Casablanca, made to feel most welcome. Met the owner this evening and he has a warm smile, very curteous and friendly. I drive all the way from Union, KY for the selection of items. Prices are excellent, quality of items superb and selection exceeded expectations. Definitely stop by for the amazing selection of Middle Eastern items. A real gem and a welcome addition to...
