Crafting and drawing and frames, oh my! I went there for the storage supplies that were on sale and ended up getting some Micron drawing pens for the kid (that she loves), and a couple of crafty things that were really reasonably priced. This is not the type of craft store that charges a bunch of overhead to make a money grab. They have quality merchandise at decent prices that makes crafting affordable and, therefore, more fun. I also took advantage of the Michaels credit card offer for an additional 20% off. The young cashier seemed to want to talk me out of the credit card (she said she didn't know how to do the application), but she was able to get assistance from a senior employee who was pleasant and helpful. Had the initial service not been so awkward I would have given the store five stars. Shaving the one star off still reflects my opinion of the chain. Michael's is way better than a lot of other elitist craft stores out there (ahem,* hobby lobby*) that make me want to order on Amazon before walking through their doors. I will definitely go back...
Read moreI was at the Michael’s store 01/16/2023 with my almost 3 year old daughter from about 11am-noon. While we were there she needed a diaper change.
I went into the men’s bathroom, and discovered that there was no changing table. So I assumed there must be a family restroom somewhere. After asking an employee, I discovered there wasn’t.
I ended up changing my daughter on the floor of the bathroom, in the ADA stall.
While there, I also noticed that the toilet paper holder was very far away from the toilet, not anywhere close to the requirements. I am not disabled, but I know these rules are important for access for all.
I talked to the manager of the store at the time, and she did not seem to care. All I wanted was for there to be some compassion, and a belief that the issue would be fixed. Based on her reaction, I received neither.
Be cautious if you are a parent or someone with a disability — Michael’s does not appear to think you deserve the same...
Read moreI go in there for model paints. I use water based craft paint. There's no stores for modeling within ten miles so I'm always praying their model car/airplane/truck aisle had been restocked. It's been a year I've gone in there once a week to check and there's been NOTHING restocked. The spray paints are empty. The brush paints are empty.. No exacto blades. No bone saws. Literally 100 empty pegs and ten shelves completely BARE! I understand there's been supply chain issues but that's ridiculous. We hobby modelers have been forgotten about at Michaels. I spend allot of cash on supplies. I have to spend that cash 10 miles away at hobby town. So if you're looking for model building supplies.... Do not come to this location. Head to hobby town in fields ertle. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Pricey. But you'll get what you came for and likely leave with new info and a...
