This place has an undeniable charm to it. I stumbled upon it when I found myself famished after encountering an excessively long line at the Chinese buffet.
This place can best be described as an "fake Asian food, catering to those who may be less familiar with traditional Asian flavors." The restaurant advertises itself as a sushi place, but unfortunately, it serves some of the most disappointing sushi I have ever encountered. Admittedly, we are not in close proximity to the sea, which makes it challenging to source the freshest ingredients. However, even with that consideration, I still expected sushi that at least resembled the real thing. Yet, upon examining the sushi pictures, I was met with disappointment. The sushi rolls had an excessive amount of rice, causing them to fall apart and lose their shape. The presentation was lacking, resembling something one might find in a beginner's cooking class rather than a reputable sushi establishment. Furthermore, the portions were surprisingly small, leaving much to be desired in terms of satisfaction and satiation.
I must express my gratitude for the restaurant not being crowded during my visit, as it allowed me to appease my hunger during lunchtime. However, I cannot help but feel a sense of disappointment with the overall dining experience. It is my sincere hope that the restaurant takes these criticisms constructively and works towards improving the quality and authenticity of their sushi offerings. After all, a genuine sushi experience should be a delight for the senses, and I believe that there is room for improvement in achieving that goal at this establishment.
Fried tofu was fine. But I would prefer more firm tofu, instead of soft tofu...

The service is prompt, the miso soup which accompanies your meal is actually very good, and the dishes are prepared with good presentation in mind. We had a few custom requests to our sushi rolls, and they complied without question.
We had a few rolls and a couple orders of yellowtail. The yellowtail was quite firm, against the expectation of a more tender piece. The rolls were definitely well crafted and tasty, but again, really only matching the price that you paid for it.
Flavor-wise, you should not expect the highest quality sushi. Their 1/2 price all day slogan is liekly a marketing strategy to make you feel like you're paying, say, $6 for a $12 quality sushi roll. This is not the case. You're paying $6 for a $6 quality sushi roll. It's smart, but don't buy into the loftier prices thinking you'll be getting a great cut of fish in your order.
I promise this is intended to be a good review. In all fairness, it is not the best tasting sushi in the area, but it also doesn't pretend to be. If you have high standards for quality sushi, this might actually let you down. If, however, you have more interest in a budgeted sushi experience, this will not disappoint. I had a good lunch there, in and out in no time. I would definitely return again if craving a good variety of rolls. Recommended: Fired Scallop Roll, Dynamite Dream Roll (ordered without...

Update 2017-11-28: the past 3 times I've been here they've been out of something. The come machine was broke, it's always something. I'll try coming back one more time but if they are out of anything again I will not return.
I just visited this fine establishment today as I wanted some inexpensive sushi. The sushi was fine, the sushi reminded me of Dancing Wasabi (who shut down to avoid paying back overtime to its employees) that was in Hyde Park. Just not as good. But nearly identical. The staff was very friendly and always smiling. I did spend a few separate moments waiting for their return to my table to order. But they were very kind.
The three rolls I ordered were the Volcano Roll, Sunday Morning Roll and a simple Spicy Salmon. Two of these are cooked rolls, The Volcano Roll lacked flavor and after two pieces I stopped eating it.
I also ordered Beef Fried Rice which was my least enjoyed dish there. After a few bites I set it off to the side, as it was a swing and a miss for me. Broccoli, lima beans, mushrooms? Eww.... I did ask them to spice the Beef Fried Rice and I should have been more specific, but they just threw in sliced jalapenos. I expected a traditional chili paste or Crushed Red Peppers to be mixed into it like many other Thai/Sushi joints.
I would return...
