Alliance Poultry Farms Inc — Local services in West Chicago Township

The guy at the front store barely speaks English and it is hard to communicate with him. I recently purchased a half a dozen of egg-laying chickens from this farm, expecting healthy, well-raised birds. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. From the moment I brought the chickens home, they have shown signs of distress. For the entire week, they’ve barely eaten, seem easily frightened by the slightest sound or movement, and haven’t laid a single egg.

It’s clear that something happened at the farm to cause this level of anxiety in these birds. While the place promotes itself as selling “fresh” chickens, I wouldn’t be surprised if these poor animals are filled with stress hormones due to the conditions they were kept in. I can't recommend buying from here unless they seriously reconsider how they treat their animals. When the guy was pulling the chickens out of the cages for me, he was grabbing them by their wings and yanking them into the box. I have never seen so much cruelty. The place reeks...

Phenomenal taste to their chicken. Seriously, you can’t beat this kind of freshness either...

The owner was so kind to me, he let me come in the back and pick a bird. Then seeing my interest, he let me come in the processing area and see how they run things. The guys in the back were happy to show me what they do. It was super interesting and he was really proud of it! He gave me a great price, $15 dollars even for a big rooster, prepared what they call “Chinese Style”: or with the head and legs still attached. They de-feathered and cleaned the inside of the bird, leaving those precious organs you can’t get at the super market washed and ready to cook.

Tip: don’t bring a vegan with you and DON’T wear your best shoes if you plan on walking behind the counter to select a bird. There is livestock and heavy equipment involved guys, it can get a bit messy.

I bought a chicken at these time but there are duck as well.. Actually I had bought already a couple of month ago a chicken and quiels as well. Now I asked chicken with brown feather and have to tell you I was absolutely satisfied. I did not had to choice the chicken, only I told the guy I would like to cook a chicken gulyas..The fat on the chicken was like gold, perfect cleaning in 15 minutes, the gulyas was perfect..
