Building Blocks Toy Store — Local services in West Chicago Township

I've been going to Building Blocks Toy Store for over a decade, first for my child and now for all the other babies and kiddos in my family's life. BBTS is amazing. No matter which BBTS store I go to, every time I walk in I feel like I'm home. Warm, welcoming and knowledgable staff (many of whom have been there for years!), the very best selection of toys, and an owner who cares and gives generously (often behind the scenes) to the community. All I do is walk in, say the child's age and a few descriptors, and their team picks a few items that always are a hit. Products are great and I overall love the store, but when I entered the store on December 23rd around 1 PM, I was not greeted by any of the 3 staff members standing by the cash register. All 3 were chit chatting about their favorite restaurants and none of them offered to help. They were talking and laughing rather loudly and didn’t even offer any help when I struggled to reached up to grab a stuffed animal on display above the shelves. This is one of the best toy stores around, and my go-to for kid presents. The staff are very helpful, and I frequently will go in and give minimal information (as in, I need something for a 9 year old boy under $40) and they always have something spot on (in that particular case it was foam ax throwing). I could be in and out with a perfect wrapped present in under 15 minutes if my kids didn’t need to look at everything 😂 They wrap it and make it easy, and I continue to come back even though I no longer live...
