Three Rivers Antiques — Local services in West Columbia

This weekend, my husband and I went on a trip for Valentine’s and stayed in the area. To end our trip, we decided to visit some antique shops nearby. Being Sunday, most antique shops opened later, so we decided to go here first since it opened at 12:00 pm. We arrived shortly before opening, and waited in our car until 12:00 pm. At 12, we, along with some other costumers, decided to get out of our vehicle to see if the shop was open. The shop wasn’t open quite yet, so we decided to head back to our car to give the shop owner a little more grace, knowing that it was a Sunday. As we headed back to our car, another car arrived, and a women got out of her car in a hurry. The group of customers were still outside of their vehicles, but everyone was in good spirits. One of the older customers inquired with the lady that had arrived asking if she was an employee. The lady responded quite rudely that she was and asked the crowd did we know that the shop opened at 12 pm. The crowd responded a bit confused that we did know that the shop opened at 12 pm, the time now being a few minutes past 12. The employee rudely replied that it was two minutes until 12, and I showed her that the time on my clock said three minutes past twelve. Because her tone was so rude despite the crowds calmness, my husband and I decided to leave. As we got in our car, we could hear the employee making rude remarks to the other costumers saying, “some people act like the world is ending if you’re 8 minutes late.” I’m not sure how this business is typically run, being our first visit, but we left feeling very defeated...

I thought this was going to be a cute little antique store. I had no idea it was this massive! This store is packed with some of the most amazing antiques! I saw toys from my childhood that I had forgotten and furniture and knick-knacks that my grandparents used to have. It is truly nostalgia at its finest. I suggest if you like antiques or just really cool stuff you visit this place. The lady at the register was just as sweet and as helpful as ever, and I really enjoyed talking with her. I will definitely return here. My sister and I love to go antiquing and thrift stores. She has been searching for a reasonably priced grandmother style antique clock for ever. This place at the back tucked into a corner has a booth that the owner fixes the inners only and you have a working antique masterpiece. Each booth held many treasures. Most were reasonably priced.
