We recently hosted our rehearsal dinner for the Campbell-Pickler wedding at Savage Craft in 2024, and it was an absolute dream. From the moment we stepped into the Armory Room, we knew we were in for a treat. The facilities were beyond perfect – spacious, beautifully maintained grounds, and an ambiance that set the stage for a fantastic evening.

The staff at Savage Craft deserves special recognition. Their commitment to excellence was evident throughout the event. From assisting with the tear-down to ensuring every detail was attended to, they went above and beyond to make our rehearsal dinner truly special.

The food was a highlight of the evening, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it. Every dish was a culinary delight, and the quality surpassed our expectations. The music played at just the right level, creating a wonderful mood without overshadowing conversations. The in-house microphone worked flawlessly, ensuring that all speeches and announcements were heard clearly.

I want to extend a special thank you to Dylan Longfellow, the Event Coordinator at Savage Craft. His expertise and support were invaluable in planning and executing a seamless event. If you're in need of a venue for your special occasion, I highly recommend reaching out to Dylan at Savage Craft. You can trust them to exceed your expectations.

My recent visit to Savage Craft Ale Works was part of my birthday celebration, and it turned out to be a fantastic evening. Coincidentally, the restaurant was hosting an event for real estate investors and agents with the group REI Deal Finders. They even had a corn hole tournament, adding a lively and competitive edge to the night. I decided to bring my 16-year-old son along, and Savage Craft proved to be an excellent choice for a family outing. Most of their tables are outside, making it a great spot for kids to enjoy. On previous visits, I've enjoyed live music performances, which add to the venue's vibrant atmosphere. To make the night even more special, we headed to the indoor bar where I asked Ashley, one of the bartenders, to create a non-alcoholic drink for my son. She was incredibly accommodating and patient as my son, who is quite picky, struggled to decide on a drink. Ashley's creativity shone through as she concocted the perfect drink that my son absolutely loved. He felt so cool with his fancy beverage that he ended up getting two! For anyone visiting Savage Craft Ale Works, I highly recommend asking for Ashley. Her attentive service and innovative drink creations truly enhanced our experience. In summary, Savage Craft Ale Works in West Columbia offers a delightful combination of great food, fun drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a place to unwind, it's definitely worth a visit.

Savage Craft Ale Works West Columbia, SC Visited: April 12, 2025 Occasion: Casual night out

Savage Craft Ale Works is a unique gem tucked into West Columbia, combining a great craft beer experience with rich local history. The venue itself is impressive—it’s made up of two beautifully renovated historic buildings: the former Brookland Fire Station & City Hall and the old New Brookland Jail, dating back to around 1908. The space spans three stories, each with its own vibe.

We tried the Canopy Surfer Sour Rainbow Sherbet and the Blueberry Cider—both were fantastic and full of flavor. Their drink menu offers a great mix, whether you’re into sours, ciders, or classic ales.

The main floor features indoor seating, a full bar and menu, and a large outdoor area that’s both family- and pet-friendly. We enjoyed live music outside while still being able to hold a conversation, thanks to the well-balanced sound throughout the venue. The second floor was open but seemed reserved for private events or special occasions. The rooftop bar, open to those 21+, offered a lively atmosphere with music and full service as well.

Outdoor spaces were cozy and inviting with firepits and soft lighting, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

There’s free parking available off Meeting Street and a spacious elevator that services all floors, which is great for accessibility.

No complaints here—we’ll...
