WORLD FOOD MARKET PLACE — Local services in West Columbia

I have shopped here 4 times and first let me say I'm glad they are here instead of an empty store front being vandalized, they have a mixed variety of items and some things I buy just to try since they are items eaten in other countries, yes I have picked up some expired items that could have still be used but they don't reduce the prices on expired or getting ready to expire items. I have seen lately allot of Great Value items which is Walmart and I am wondering can they resell that brand not being affiliated with Walmart and where do these items come from? Pallets maybe 🤔 but anyway I have been happy with what I buy mostly the soda products and other non-dairy drink, fresh garlic, lamb. So please folks let's support them and communicate so we can keep that building from being an empty building with its size and no customers how long you think...

I was hopeful that this would be a new oasis of international foods here in Columbia, but I was shockingly disappointed. If you are looking for Indian spices that is the only reason to enter, and enter at your own risk.

There was no rhyme or reason to where things are located in the aisles- chocolate chips next to Vienna sausages?? The produce appeared to be very very old. I saw many other items that were expired and a whole bread products display with green splotches of mold growing on most of them!!!

Perhaps the worst part was the bathroom … not just dirty… it was outright revolting— smelly and filthy with used feminine products and dirty tissues tossed all around the floor, no toilet paper and no hand soap!

Not what I was expecting. There is a large chain called "World Market", I mistook this store for that. The name is deliberately misleading. The sign even looks similar. I decided to look around anyway since I was looking for particular Mexican, Indian and Thai spices. The store is in a place that used to be a large grocery store, but they are only using half the space. The "fresh" food looked nauseating and not fresh at all. Half the stuff on shelves didn't have prices and nothing was organized in any kind of reasonable fashion. It was swept and neat, but extremely disorganized and it had a rather unpleasant smell. Smelled like rotting food...
