Unkind and immature staff. While my older teenage daughters were at the mall today, I asked them to pop in to this location to check the in-store rug inventory. Specifically for a 10x14. Mostly on the off chance that kismet strikes, and a neutral 10x14 happens to be in-store. My daughters were helped by two women employees, a brunette and a blonde. Upon my daughters leaving, the blonde employee leaned over and said to the brunette employee, “can you believe she just sent her children in here?”
My daughters were not out of ear shot. One of my daughters turned around and made eye contact with the employees. This blonde employee knew she’d been heard, and the brunette had enough tact to not respond. Is this the example we wish to show young women? In Pottery Barn, no less?! The message that we gossip, shame, and judge mothers who allow their teenage children to check store inventory for their working mother? Shouldn’t we be engaging the next generation with support for independence? Championing young women AND their mothers?
I love shopping at Pottery Barn, and this experience has been noted. As a woman, I am disgusted by the behavior of a Pottery Barn employee. You did the brand you represent a disservice today. Do better, and to the brunette, you missed a moment to champion women. Stand up to shaming bullies, even the ones you work with. Young women...

We recently had the misfortune of ordering what we believed to be a complete bed frame with headboard from Pottery Barn, only to discover that it was just the headboard. The misleading photo on their website was incredibly deceptive. After realizing this a month before the estimated delivery date, my wife called to cancel the order. The customer service representative assured us we would receive a refund in 3-5 days.
Imagine our shock when a day later, we received a refund that was short by $223 for shipping. We called customer service, only to be told we couldn’t get the shipping refunded because it was a cancellation and not a return. How does that make any sense? We canceled an order that was never shipped, yet we're penalized for it.
This was our first and last experience with Pottery Barn, and it’s a shame because my parents are long-time customers who were planning to buy new furniture for their move. They’ve now decided to look elsewhere because of this experience we had.
I’ve never encountered a retailer that charges shipping on items that weren’t delivered. This entire process was frustrating, misleading, and infuriating. Save yourself the headache and shop...
Read moreI bought the furniture in November. It was delivered with a broken leg. I have spent about 4-5 hours dealing with this between phone calls, emails, and visiting the store. It's been one month and I still haven't had an answer regarding how the broken leg of my furniture is going to be repaired or replaced. It's been a month since the store said they would call me back and I even went to the store to discuss this matter since they haven't called me back yet, as mentioned in the previous email, the general manager ( Kristin Alvarez ) was supposedly in the back of the store but when they asked for my name she was suddenly no longer there and would call me when she returned to the store. It has been a month now, no call. I just contacted the customer service and return everything. I’ll not buy anything from Pottery Barn here at Jordan Creek again. The manager should handle this better, instead of avoiding...
