BoxLunch — Local services in West Hartford

I have to admit, I assumed this would be a Newbury Comics knock off - but I thought the selection was wonderfully curated, and the people working there were SO helpful - we sort of wandered in with a 1, 2, and 3 year old - the one guy directed us towards the things in their sizes, quickly pulled things down if anyone so much as glanced at them, and found matching things from the adult section. When he got the things we couldn’t reach down - he put all of the sizes on a rack we could reach and swapped them with sometime else so it was easy for us to pick them up ourselves. When he grabbed the adult stuff, he said - don’t worry if you don’t love that, just leave it there I can put it back - which was so thoughtful. I thought it was the best combination of salesmanship and consideration I’ve ever seen. Walking in it was just supposed to be browsing and a time sink, and we walked out with things we really liked. The other employees were sweet with the kids and knowledgeable about the things we were buying. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole concept as well - 1 meal for every $10 spent - so it was a fantastic experience. This place sells all sorts of anime and pop culture merchandise. I was really impressed with the selection. I saw merchandise from these franchises/properties: Disney (Pocahontas, Cinderella, Tangled, Lilo and Stitch), Pixar (Toy Story, Up, Soul, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc.), Studio Ghibli (Ponyo, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro), Demon Slayer, InuYasha, Fruits Basket, Kirby, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Stranger Things, Sailor Moon, Black Butler, Animal Crossing, Naruto, The Madalorian, Lore Olympus, My Hero Academia, Seven Deadly Sins, One Piece, Attack on Titan, Super Mario, Star Wars, Avatar the Last Air-Bender, and much more. This store is absolutely amazing. Everything I love is in this store. I am a huge Mario fan and love cartoons. Also I was helped by this wonderful person. Her name is Kyla. She helped so much. She had a lot of knowledge about some of the things I was asking about. Also she was very friendly and kind. I wish more people that worked in customer service acted like her.
