Read moreNow I gave it an extra star because while walking in I was greeted several times. Even by a chef which made me feel more comfortable being there. You understand that right?
So the food I will say isn't bad. Me? I am a bit hard cause I have been to many restaurants as a kid & one made me this dish that was delicious. I like to get seafood pasta dishes. Alfredo tears my stomach up so red sauce is for me. This place was serving lunch. I was looking at a dinner menu at the door & already had my dish setup. Lunch menu didnt have the dish but they did it anyways. What I asked for was the Lobster & Shrimp afredo but instead Marinara instead. They were fine with it & did as I asked. And the food wasnt bad. I have to say the portions were a bit smaller than I expected they would be. I asked for apple juice & they put some apple juice in a wine glass half full. Nice but half full? That little bit of juice can still leave you exiting the building cough cause you didnt have enough juice to wash down what you just ate.... lol. You gonna have to ask for some lemon water when you go there. They need to just automattically just put water on the table. Now I can if I were drinking wine or something.. but Apple juice? Give me a McDs cup and fill it up with apple juice & I would be fine with that.
I also noticed the noodles were a bit under cooked. That dish came to us fast. Some of the noodles had that lighter color in sections. You know like that part of the noodle was still hard. Like how fast it came but I prefer to wait longer & have it done great.
Despite all that I am still open to going back because pleasant greetings can go a long way. They made me feel welcome & I could ask for anything & they would work out way to get it done. Also as I eating, the seafood in the dish was good. I can pass on some stuff but cheapness on the drink is a big deal.
I do suggest you try them out though... If you are not gonna drink maybe consider going in with your own drink from the mall vending machines to supliment the juice they...
Read moreI had high hopes walking into Brio Italian Grille. The restaurant itself makes a great first impression—large, clean, and warm, with white tablecloths and the feel of an upscale Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, what followed was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Even though the dining room was quiet with only a few other tables, it took well over 10 minutes before a server came by to take my order. I actually started a timer on my phone just to see how long it would take. When my server finally arrived, she was friendly and pleasant. After my food was dropped, she never came back to check on how it came out; she only returned when it was clear I was finished.
I ordered the Sausage Carbonara, which the menu highlights as a “guest favorite.” Based on the description, I already knew it wouldn’t be authentic, but I wasn’t prepared for just how far off the mark it would be. What I received could maybe pass as some sort of “breakfast pasta.” Instead of a silky sauce, there were chunks of scrambled egg, topped with a sunny-side-up egg that the whites were overcooked and tough. The pancetta was barely there, and in its place were broken strips of regular bacon. The only identifiable flavor came from red pepper flakes, which made the dish unnecessarily spicy but did nothing to save it.
It felt like a complete misrepresentation of what carbonara is meant to be. It was unpleasant to eat. The only good part of the evening was my glass of wine.
All told, I left feeling like I had wasted $56 after tipping and regretted not choosing one of the many other restaurants nearby. This was less like dining out and more like sitting through a bad episode of...
