Kendig Square — Local services in West Lampeter Township

I'm very glad to have a strip mall Kendig Square near my home because it saves me time and money on gas. Best time to shop is 8am because the later it gets no matter which day of the week, the traffic is horrendous especially between Georges Restaurant and Ocean State Job Lot. In the last 2 years, they've added Ocean State Job Lot and recently Harbor Freight which replaced Kmart. Plenty of restaurants in Kendig Square such as asian, 2 pizza shops, a family restaurant George's, a Subway, Burger King & Taco Bell. 1 Bank PNC. 1 nail shop. 1 liquor store. 1 UPS store. 1 driveup usps mailbox located between RiteAid and Planet Fitness. 1 grocery store Weis but for super quick grocery needs, there's a Dollar General. 1 Thrift store Goodwill + a Dollar Tree next door. 1 drug store RiteAid. A Hallmark store, workout next door at Planet Fitness. Pet Supplies Plus and Holiday Hair next to George's. I give 3 stars because although the shopping here is great, the parking and traffic is horrendous unless you shop wee hours of the morning when there are less people. I remember when Kendig Square was a field, miss all the land we use to have around Lancaster County, but time and progress moves forward and Kendig Square has been well received. Now if they would only adjust their leasing rates so us every day folks could open more mom and pop business there, we like supporting our locals. I called to inquire about leasing a storefront, that has been emptied for awhile and was told it was going to be close to $10,000 a month, yes a month....plus they said they did not think what I was proposing to put in there is what they really wanted, which was going to be an affordable co-op for resellers. I beg to differ especially in these economic times. I ask them "what are you looking for a big corporate name?" They said yes, I told them I think us local people would rather have mom-and-pop businesses, instead of "big corporate" unless they want to put a Chick-fil-A that reminds us of the blue law days and honors family values, that would...

Always a good place to go for quick shopping trips, everything you'd need is here from kmart, dollar tree, dollar general, nail salon, ups parcel and shipping store, salsa pizza, Chinese restaurant, Wasabi Japanese restaurant, Georges restaurant, Payless shoes, value pet, radio shack, movies, hallmark store, wise store, Goodwill store and drop off, pnc bank, taco bell, burger King, planet fitness, and more. Need something fast it's easy in and easy parking and buy what need and can leave in 5 to 15 mins depending on what you need or want. The restaurants are all very good. Love the Chinese restaurant and Wasabi is my favorite. Movie theater is second run movies but $2.50 matinee and $4.50 other show times and 6 theaters. I come here often for quick shopping trips or last minute gifts I need for a event...
