At Kendig Square Weis, their produce department is awful. It's the only grocery store near me for the last 20 years. Otherwise I would've relied shopping at Darrenkamps but they closed and replaced by Giant around 2019. Except for the prepackaged fresh cut grilling veggies up displayed up front, some of the produce at Weis is questionable, this morning when I shopped, I shouldn't have to inspect the only 5 green bell peppers for rotten spots until I find a good one. Their store brand ground beef packs are sometimes expiring on that day or day after you shop so y'all need to watch exp dates at this Weis. Also I find at times the store brand ground beef econo pack might look pink and fresh on the outside but once you get it home start using it, its brown in the middle. It's utterly ridiculous and costly. That's why I opt to being safe avoid food poisoning and buy mostly the pricey $9 and above prepackaged Laura's or Weis Organic line ground beef. They are lax in cleaning the shelves at the meat department, bloody and slimy splotches left on the metal rack shelving holding ground beef packs, chicken and pork chops. Also filthy dirty shelves and racks where the fresh produce is kept. In the last year alone I noticed a couple times after visiting the deli, you have to pass by the Seafood case to get to the meat department. It will literally make one puke because of the bad fishy dead seafood odor coming from that area. I don't want to talk about the Women's restroom. That's a whole other review in itself. My advice to you is empty your bladder before leaving home before shopping Kendig...
Read moreWell I've been going to this one for decades and it's certainly changed over the years. I have to give the people that I really really like five stars though for example Vinn the pharmacist, and a few of the cashiers who I can't remember all my name and another manager I've really grown to like over the years I'll get five stars. As far as food goes the last few years the selection has went down so that's one thing that I had a problem with for a while when I would go they wouldn't have the items that I had usually gotten over the years and this one on for a while quite a while. Another thing that I did find an issue would be fresh fruits and vegetables trays and things like that that happened to be very expensive the fruits and vegetables would not be any good once they were taken home and opened up we would have to throw them away. I am on a budget so that is definitely a problem. Something personally that upset me was the last couple years they switched every single thing in the bakery to 99% all icings and fillings are cream cheese that applies and I don't eat cream cheese at all so I remember talking to him about that because I was so upset because I love desserts sometimes. I mean I've been going there all these years and the last 13 years I've been going there every couple weeks I spend hundreds of dollars there and me being a recovering alcoholic I was very very sad when they put the beer place in especially with the seating and everything but what can I say it's...
Read moreI regularly shop at weis. The past few weeks I've gone there the cashiers are so miserable and make sure you know it. Not once has someone greeted me when going to check out. In fact, some don't even say anything at all. I understand not liking your job, but that's not the customer's fault. I went today and asked if I could buy a 50 lb bag of salt. I go up to the cashier and she doesn't even greet me. I ask if I could purchase a 50 lb bag of salt and she said well I need a bar code you're going to have to go get one. I told her that you can look it up on the computer because they've done it for me in the past (50 lb bags are pretty heavy to carrie inside if not needed to.) She said well I don't know how to do that. I was about to say, well ask because that's what you're supposed to do. Luckily, the cashier next to her over heard and helped me. I hope you find happier and more well mannered people to work at your store because I have not been impressed lately. I applaud the cashier that did help me. She was a prime example of good...
