We seriously needed a new roof on our West Linn home as the cedar shingles had no longer offered protection after decades of Oregon weather. We contacted 5 contractors for re-roof estimates. One we felt was too low of a bid to do an adequate job and the rest were all around the same price. We chose Affinity Home & Design because Nathan was the most knowledgeable and he explained what the job entailed and exactly what his contractors would do. He was the only one who noticed that one of our rafters was rotten as it was exposed to the elements and would need to be replaced. We are so glad Nathan included this as it would have been a problem otherwise and very expensive to replace once the new plywood and shingles were installed. Our old roof was removed, new plywood installed and the new roof shingles. We also upgraded to a much better quality material for less than what other roofers were asking to upgrade. So glad we did The work performed was perfect. The workers did a meticulous job and saw to every little detail regarding adding new vents, making all openings weather and water tight including our 4 solar tubes. Nathan thought of everything adding weather edging and water runoff materials everywhere it was needed. The roofing job was completed in a few days along with total cleanup. Above and beyond cannot describe what Nate has done for me! I contacted Affinity Home & Design with the project of turning a 300 sq. ft bare space into a beautiful hair salon in the Pearl District. I was open to ideas and from the get go I could tell I trusted Nate’s design ability and decision making. He not only offered his professional opinion about wall colors and flooring, he informed me of modern, contemporary designs that are currently the “look” in the Pearl District so that my salon would be trendy and competitive. He did extensive research on his down time to find me the most efficient, cost effective water heater and even went as far as putting my furniture together and giving me advice on my internet and sound system. Under a time line of about two weeks, Nate transformed the space into more than what I was hoping for. I was informed that most salons, even small ones like mine, can take months to build out. He had me up and running in 10 days. Keeping costs low was continually a priority for me and he never failed in keeping that his priority as well. He was in contact with me almost every day about the work being done and still remains in contact if I need anything. Having seen the work Nate has done at my salon, two of my friends have taken him on for bathroom and kitchen remodels. From design to planning to completion, Affinity was excellent to work with. We did a major overhaul of of home which included a new kitchen, flooring, sheetrock, painting, electrical, doors and windows. The care and time taken during planning made the project go smoothly. Communication was excellent throughout as they answered all of our questions and addressed all of our concerns whenever we had them. At any point if we weren’t sure about a decision, their knowledge helped guide us in the right direction. The crews working in our home were very professional, polite and considerate.
