Star Bazaar — Local services in West Norriton Township

Worst customer service. Do not go this place stay away from it. I have been giving this place a lot of business ever since it was opened. I shop every week twice or thrice for my restaurants and house. Recently I ordered 150 samosas for my restaurant believing that they make their own home made samosa. When I ordered I specifically said Mild spice. But all they did was fried the frozen samosas from Ashoka and it was spicy. When I told the guy at the front he ignored my feedback and didn’t even give me my money back. Such a disgusting customer service. I have know Manu for many years and I really respect for his hard work. But this was very disappointing. I even told the guy that please make the mild ones and I can pick up in couple of days whenever it’s ready. I told them that I will be ordering Samosa for my restaurant every week But this guy was so stupid and ignorant he would give a damn about it. I am in the restaurant business myself and I know how to take care of my customers. They lost my business for sure I will never get back to this...

We are so pleased with this grocery, which as other have mentioned, replaced a store we only visited once. Star Bazaar has a great selection of packaged goods, spices, and other ingredients for preparing desi foods (which we did not grow up eating, but love). Nice wide aisles, clean, and with a helpful and welcoming staff. We bought hot samosas today from the takeout counter which were labeled "Punjabi." I must never have eaten this regional version before, because I was just blown away by how tasty the filling was. Ajwain seeds in the wrapper, and the cumin, coriander, and fennel really came through with the potato and peas. Maybe black pepper as well. I took a nibble before using any chutney with it and decided immediately not to cover the flavor at all....

I am so happy with the new ownership of Star Bazaar, formerly Akshay grocery! My what a change in attitude and professionalism. The previous owner was an absolute jerk and I think he might have been anti Pakistani too! Always blunt and rude and seemed bothered if he had to help us customers to find anything.

The new store is very very spacious, clean and employees are polite and very helpful. The veggies and freezer section is well stocked, and full of fresh products. You can pretty much find anything here under the sun desi grocery wise!
