Golden Key Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in West Norriton Township

I ordered General Tso,s Shrimp to be delivered to my job and Im highyly disappointed in what I received. They gave me shrimp tempura with sauce on the side and rice on the side. The menu clearly says it would be sautéed in sauce. I have had this same thing plenty if times and it usually comes with large shrimp breaded and sauteed in sauce. When I called them to let them know what I received the woman on the phone told me this is just how they make it. I explained to her that the menu says something completely different than what I received. She still continued to go back and forth with me, telling me this is how they make it and I just dont like it before saying she would talk to the manager. She gets back on the phone to ask me what I want in place of it and because I cant leave work, I end up just ordering General Tso’s Chicken. Im so irritated because thats not what I wanted. She then goes on to tell me that they can deliver it, but won’t give me the difference back and they want the other food back! There is like a $3 or $4 difference between both meals. I again ask why I can’t have the difference back and she says they just don’t do that. I told her I wanted to add a shrimp roll since I couldn’t get my money back. She goes back to ask the manager and he says yes. So not only did I not get what I ordered, I now have to wait to for more food that I didn’t really even want AND they wouldn’t even give me the difference. Ita a shame because the food is good but bad customer service is a HUGE turn off. I wont be ordering...

Guys, listen. I first found this spot in 2011, and it instantly became my go to. I guarantee I've spent over $2000 here in the past decade. The staff is friendly if you just say hello, the food comes out fast, and their prices really haven't changed more than about 60 cents in the entire time I've been going. When people say find a hole in the wall Chinese spot - this is it for Norristown.

Since I left home for the military, this spot has been the one restaurant I try to hit every time I visit home. My favorite dish here is the General Tsos chicken with white rice. The savory sauce and perfectly textured chicken is incredible to me, and they usually give me enough in one order that I can reheat some the next day and it's still delicious. I've dined in a few times as well, and it's just as good. There is a nice Asian vibe going inside too which is cool.

Before you read just know that there is an add on: They food is decent probably better than most in area but one issue I have is drives (well driver it's the same guy all the time) don't have change to give back to you often so larger tipping than expected on my 12 Chinese food which then cost me 20 because he didn't have change on more than 1 occasion so I decide to pay by credit card one day that was a mistake even after I wrote in a 1.50 I thought it was fair since I tipped him so heavily in the past he add more on to it then I signed for. I am outraged and disappointed and will be speaking to a manger tomorrow. God knows how many other people he has done this too. It is theft plain and simple.
