I called and ordered to go yesterday and upon making the phone order, the person taking my order did not take my name or info. I arrived and my partner went in to get the order while I waited in the car. They gave us the wrong order and under-charged me for it. I noticed it was the wrong order and went back in to tell them its the wrong order, they gave me the correct order and said they were going to charge me the difference but ended up then overcharging me. I showed them the 2 charges and said it didn't add up to my order, they had overcharged me by $18. So the cashier tried calling her manager but she didn't know how to refund my card so she gave me cash instead (which is fine, just an inconvenience) but a little frustrating that I had to do the math and let her know she overcharged me, I think she had trouble figuring out the math but she didn't pull out a calculator at any point. It just seemed a little unorganized and im not sure why since there was no one in the store ordering. I think the manager needs to implement a better takeout system. As for the bowls (ay papi and Southern bbq) the southern bbq bowl was delicious but the ay papi was a 3/5, it tasted as if the lettuce was going bad, the stem of the lettuce head was in the bowl and it looked brown and smelled and tasted like it was rotting. Could use more avocado but the cheeze sauce and walnut taco meat was good and very interesting. Also got the strawberry raw cheesecake and it was my least favorite thing out of the order. It tasted super sour and not in the good way, sour as if it...

A friend gave me a gift card for my 50th birthday and she paid $50.00 which is a lot of money. So I decided to treat my boyfriend. After we ordered and ate the food that seemed a bit stale and old, the person working says that I need a receipt for the gift card when the business only does electronic receipts. So I had to put it on my only credit card. This was at the Norristown location.

I asked for the owner. He said that he can't do anything about it and it's been happening a lot. Then he said that is why they always ask for the receipt.

Remember my friend purchased it, so do I embarssingly ask her for it when it's an electronic receipt??? Meanwhile I will never go back anyway.

They just got $50 for the gift card purchase and another $38 for the meals we just got and didn't even enjoy. Also, when we got home, the dessert had a bad after taste. ( Chocolate Banana pie) Took two bites and had to toss it out!

So now, I'm on a mission to tell everyone. Phoenixville Veg Festival here I come. FB, Yelp, Instagram, Snapchat. Vegan FB groups. My corporate elevator........ anyone with an ear.

Also going to donate my Vegan Gangster Sweatshirt.

A little over reactive? If only he said he was sorry. If only it wasn't a repeated problem that he admitted to that they don't investigate why? Why don't their own gift cards show the correct balance? If only he offered to at least give the dessert as complimentary. ...

Love GVO sincerely from the heart. We've been making the 2 1/2 hour trek to this restaurant for about four years now. I do miss the falafel in collards and wish it was still on the menu. The Ay Papi burrito bowl is my new favorite but I do wish there was a different grain other than brown rice. If you can get the Loaded Baked Sweet Potato- do it! It's freaking bananas! So good! I wanted to give 5 stars but the last two times I have purchased the cheesecakes they haven't been as good as they were in the past and the kale chips we got most recently definitely could've used more time in the dehydrator- a bit too chewy for my liking and also from what they used to be. All their juices and smoothies are...

Gangster Vegan is an awesome spot for unique plant-based food. The portion sizes are generous and flavors are bold considering the reasonable prices. Their menu is broken down by salads, smoothies, bowls, and burgers. You won’t find a lot of the more traditional vegetarian options. Instead, expect beet and broccoli burgers, nacho cashew cheese, and other creative components. My personal favorite is the taco salad; walnut meat, avocados, and cashew cheese piled on a bed of fresh lettuce. The service is always fast and friendly, and their seating area works for a fast casual concept. Highly recommended for a meatless lunch...even if you’re not opposed to meat typically (like me).

Located in the up-and-coming Cross Street Market in Federal Hill, this newly opened vendor-style restaurant offers vegan salads, bowls, and sandwiches. I was initially turned-off by the fact that their menu doesn't incorporate traditional meat substitutes such as tofu, seitan, or tempeh. The food instead uses ostensibly healthier, less processed meat substitutes derived from beets and mushrooms, for example. However, I wasn't able to have a burger because they were short on some of the ingredients--hopefully, this doesn't happen too often. Instead, I opted for a delicious bowl called the "Ay Papi", which earned the restaurant its 5 stars.
