T.J. Maxx — Local services in Westerly

Normally this is my go to place, but tonight I purchased a xxl monster truck RC car, it was on clearance and I didn’t read the poor writing with a low ink pen that said “as is”, well I get home and there is no remote to the truck. It is useless the company doesn’t make replacement remotes and well bringing to have it reprogrammed to a different remote is a lot of time and money. I had an excited 5 year old disappointed that he couldn’t play with a gift my father had me purchase for him for Christmas. If the store knew it didn’t have a remote (clearly they did due to the poor attempt at writing “as is”) then they should have not sold it because it’s obviously useless. I’m sure I won’t be able to get a refund because of the writing of as is which I think they should not do that. I also purchased another toy on clearance but it didn’t have any writing on the sticker and the light on it won’t work, that’s the whole purpose of the toy it’s a neon light board.

Great Beauty Finds + Even Better Customer Service

I always pop into TJ Maxx in Westerly for skincare, and I’m constantly impressed by their selection—especially the Nivea and Valjean Labs products that have become staples in my routine. On this trip, I found some adorable spot treatments (little weather icons, IYKYK), and a whole shelf of body scrubs and Korean beauty goodies I didn’t expect to see.

Shout out to Linda- trying to make sure that customers aren’t waiting in line too long. Wendy, I’m not sure what was up your a$$ today but when a colleague says they need assistance because the line was piling up but saying “they can wait” is not something to say when there’s so many people in line and only 2 people were kindly assisting customers. 5/5 to Linda- 1/5 for Wendy. Get someone who actually cares about their customers please :( I’ll still be back but if Wendy pulls this again…...
